Sealy Posturepedic Mattresses – Snoozing With Comfort

Anne Randyl | December 9, 2009

Sealy Posturepedic mattresses are very popular because they’re specifically designed for comfort. The company has become well known for this product line and it’s become one of the best selling mattresses in the world. Sealy debuted their first Posturepedic mattress in the 30′s. People automatically think Posturepedic when they hear Sealy because the two are virtually synonymous in the industry. The company also makes many other different styles of mattresses besides their signature brand.

A queen size mattress has a 782 coil count and you can get them in plush, euro pillow top or firm. Extra foam is used for support at the head and hip areas. This additional support minimizes painful pressure, reducing tossing an turning. Sealy Posturepedic mattresses have 7 levels of comfort.

Sealy uses their unicase XT design so that the edges of the mattress do not break down before the rest and start sagging. This deterioration occurs because people sit on the edge of the bed which is not normally reinforced in less expensive mattresses. This feature extends the life of the mattress. There’s also additional support in the form of latex in the hip area as the hips are considered the most painful pressure point on the sleep surface.

Sealy Posturepedic mattresses are very beneficial if you frequently have an aching back. If you’re waking up sore in the morning then you may need to look for a new mattress. The design of the Posturepedic takes into account many of the issues that can occur from movement when you are asleep. The mattress provides a good balance of comfort and support for your spine.

Consumers have been very satisfied with the customer service offered from Sealy. It can be very difficult when you have an issue with your mattress and need to use the warranty. The customer service at Sealy is some of the best and will help you out if there’s any problems. However it’s quite rare that a problem should occur with your Sealy mattress.

Posturepedic mattresses tend to be heavier than others because of all of the additional support. If you want to move this mattress then it’s recommended that you get a friend as you might not be able to move it by yourself.

There are also Spring Free Posturepedic mattresses that utilize Smart Latex technology developed by Sealy. They use latex or foam cores and the type of core will correlate to the firmness of the mattress. Pinholes are used for proper airflow in the core . This ventilation means that the sleeping base is much cooler than memory foam. The latex core is manufactured as one solid piece so there are no irregularities or seams. It’s also resistant to microbes and dust mites which make these mattresses a great choice for those with asthma or allergies.

There are also several different densities available which relate to the comfort and firmness of the mattress. These latex Sealy Posturepedic mattresses are very comfortable and have been getting high ratings for years. However they are also somewhat expensive so you should budget accordingly.

Sealy Posturpedic Mattresses are recognized for their top consumer ratings, comfort and numerous orthopedic design features which when combined deliver a great sleeping surface.

Buying a New Mattress is Like Taking Vitamins

Vladmir Skillet | December 5, 2009

Everyday technology is getting better in almost every industry. The mass majority of people are constantly buying the newest gadgets, phones, HD televisions and cars; yet many people forget just how important a quality mattress can effect your health and add benefit to your life.

People are more and more busy in our modern society and sleep is taking a back seat on the priority list when it comes to deciding what to do with your spare time. Some of you might even ask, “What spare time?” Sleep exerts argue that the average human needs around 8.5 hours of sleep and yet, in America we are averaging a meager 6.7 hours. The largest complaints often revolve around mattress related issues like trouble falling asleep and restless nights. But there is more to the story than just quantity of sleep.

Everywhere you look, there are energy drinks and cognitive enhancement products gearing up to help you remain alert. Sealy, the mattress manufacturer has started a new campaign with the motto “a better 6″ with the intent that people will be more rested with their less than optimum sleep habits. In many ways, they are on the right track and yet there is a tendency for the mass majority to purchase other luxury items like new cars, cell phones, and televisions before replacing a worn out bed.

Sure it might cost a couple thousand dollars for a new quality mattress, but there are payment plans available in almost any mattress store. This is often a big factor since people assume they need an upfront lump sum which they simply do not have the cash flow to compensate.

Sleep is perhaps the greatest stress reducer in our overstressed worlds. But even beyond stress, there are a number of significant sleep related problems such as memory reduction, cognitive skills being inhibited, digestion issues (including reduced metabolism which can lead to weight gain) and other problems like immune deficiencies. Throughout the years, sleep has been a mystery to us. It hasn’t been until recently when proper brain scanning technology has really allowed us to figure out what was going on inside our brains during this time. The basics involve flowing through the 5 states of sleep from light to heavy and into REM (rapid eye movement) usually taking about 90 minutes for its first cycle. As the night goes on, the cycles time becomes shorter getting to the REM stage more frequently, thus providing the most benefit to the individual.

Getting enough sleep really includes the need to get a suitable amount of REM which is directly proportional to the amount of restfulness you are experiencing in your sleep. Should you be waking up with a sore back in the night, or trying to find a comfortable position, you are interrupting your ability to hit REM more rapidly, thus decreasing the quality of your sleep!

Do yourself a favor and invest in your health. Buying a new mattress might cost a couple of thousand dollars, but you will never find a better buy to increase the quality of life.

Committed to helping people get better sleeps, Vladmir Skillet writes on many topics including find the right futon beds and futon bunk beds for kids. Visit his articles for more information on bed and mattress related issues.

Why You Might Like A Simmons Mattress

Anne Randyl | December 2, 2009

Zalmon G. Simmons started his business in the year eighteen seventy. Since that time Simmons Mattress Company has grown into being a household name when it comes to bedding products. It’s been nearly one hundred and forty years since his Wisconsin factory stopped making cheese boxes and created mattresses instead. Because of this fact, the company is one of the oldest surviving businesses in America and one of the oldest mattress manufacturers still in operation.

It’s believed that they were one of the first companies ever to mass produce mattresses. Up to this point mattresses were used mainly by the rich because they had to be made completely by hand and were quite costly. It wasn’t until eighteen eighty-nine that Simmons was able to improve their production techniques to the point that they could offer them for less money. The price started out at twelve dollars but quickly dropped to ninety five cents, making them available to the middle class for the first time.

The basis for modern day mattresses also appeared around this time, which is the spiral coil innerspring unit.

One of Simmons first big hits was the Wall-A-Bed in nineteen twelve, an early version of the well known Murphy Bed which they later manufactured for the Murphy company. Due to their success the company grew quickly and had built factories throughout the country by nineteen nineteen.

Nineteen twenty-five saw the first appearance of one of the company’s most important developments, the pocketed coil spring. It’s become one of the most common types of springs used for support in mattresses due to several characteristics which make it superior. Because each coil moves independently, rather than all as one piece, there is much less motion transfer across the sleep surface. This means partners will not disturb each other as they move throughout the night, especially while getting in and out of bed.

Also, since the springs are not attached to each other they can conform much more closely to the natural curves of the body, increasing comfort and reducing painful pressure. The only drawback is that mattresses made with individually pocketed springs have proven not to be as durable as those made with a regular one piece innerspring unit, so quite a few companies still use the latter in their products.

At that time, the pocketed coil springs made their debut in the original Simmons Beautyrest Mattress. This mattress rose to being the company’s top seller and is Simmons signature product to the present day. The Beautyrest mattress line has been manufactured with individually encased springs in the support layer ever since.

Simmons Mattress Company has continued to grow at a large rate through the years. A testament to this fact is that they’ve expanded operations in other countries and are one of the top mattress producers around the globe. Many people consider them among the “big three” along with Sealy and Serta. In the U.S. alone they have eighteen factories and offer a large variety of mattresses, including almost every type imaginable.

In addition to the Beautyrest mattress line up they also have a latex mattress named Natural Care, a memory foam mattress called Comforpedic, a high end and elegant mattress known as Beautyrest Black, and also the Simmons Kids brand. In addition, they sell a wide range of other products and like pillows, pillowcases, sheets and mattress toppers. If you’re thinking about purchasing a new bed, Simmons mattress has covered all grounds and it’s more than likely they’ll have what you’re seeking.

In conclusion, Simmons Mattress Company has a longstanding tradition of offering quality products at competitive prices. Their hundred and forty year history has shown them to be a solid, reliable company with the ability to survive in this highly competitive business.

When shopping for an expensive item like a mattress it’s always wise to do careful research, so we’re not going to tell you to go straight out and buy a Simmons. However we do believe they have a lot to offer and their products are certainly worth a closer look.

If Anne Randyl had her way she wouldn’t get out of bed all day. She just can’t wait to get home to her Simmons Comforpedic and really enjoys researching how to buy a mattress.

Adult Bedwetting Could Be A Sign Of A More Serious Condition

Patrick Miller | November 29, 2009

When we think of people who wet the bed we usually visualize small children learning to use the bathroom or very elderly people who are unable to control their bladders. Surprisingly a good number of otherwise healthy middle-aged adults suffer from adult nocturnal enuresis. Healthy adults who suffer from nocturnal enuresis are often too ashamed to tell their doctor about this problem. Sadly, these people could most likely be helped if they spoke to a qualified doctor.

This medical malady also affects healthy and strong younger adults and even adolescents who have no other medical concerns. Daytime incontinence can be a problem with many people elderly people, adult bedwetting seems to affect people from all backgrounds and cultural groups. It is not only elderly adults who suffer from uncontrollable bed urination.

Some sufferers have grown up wetting their beds all their lives, while some men and women later begin to suffer from a bed wetting problem after living decades with no problems at all. Not all adults have the same types of nocturnal enuresis symptoms. There are two main kinds of adult bed wetting – primary nocturnal enuresis and secondary nocturnal enuresis and the symptoms and treatments vary for each kind. Each type of bedwetting has a chance of being prevented with drugs designed to help mature bedwetters.

Adults who wet the bed throughout the decades of their lives are could have medical problems called by physical injuries that are causing their bed wetting. Adults who have wet the bed all their lives are said to suffer from primary nocturnal enuresis. Often men and women who suffer from primary nocturnal enuresis are genetically disposed to bed wetting. Genetics can play a big role in an adult’s issues with nocturnal enuresis.

Another type of enuresis can sometimes be caused by stress, excessive alcohol consumption before sleep or a physical injury that developed later in life. Random occurrences of bed wetting are usually attributed to secondary nocturnal enuresis, which is also referred to as adult onset enuresis. This type of bed wetting is called secondary nocturnal enuresis and it is the phrase used to denote men and women who being wetting the bed later in life.

Urinating in bed can often be the symptom of a more dangerous medical condition. Though it’s an confusing problem for millions of adults, it’s important to remember that bed wetting is a symptom of something and not an actual illness by itself. Approximately 4.1 million adults suffer from some sort of bed wetting issue.

There are many different ways for adults to prevent wetting the bed at night. One of the most affordable and most effective solutions to try is one of the bed wetting alarms available online today.

Baby Cribs – What You Need To Know

Barbara McNeery Sue Nowell | November 24, 2009

There are so many different price ranges, types and styles of baby cribs available today that it can be quite mind boggling. The first questions that should pop into your head are what you should be looking for and where to start. Crib safety should be the most important consideration for the babys sake. This will include crib placement as well as several other safety related aspects. This is a very important consideration when looking at meeting the needs of your little one. No matter if you are building your own or buying one, there are a few tips that you should use when choosing a crib.

Always remember, safety comes first when purchasing baby cribs. All new cribs in the U.S. have to meet specific guidelines for safety but a lot of families and individuals will pass cribs down from one to another. This is why safety checks for new or used cribs are so important. In the case of a used crib be sure that you do all the repairs so that it will meet safety standards before use. Check all posts to be sure they are secure and none are missing. Head boards as well as foot boards should not have any type of cutouts that the baby can get caught in or hurt on. Be sure that you check all fasteners used to put the bed together are secure and none are missing.

Crib sides are another very important safety feature that must be looked at when getting that crib. The slats on the crib sides should be no further apart than 2-1/8 and corner post no higher than 1/16 above the head or footboard. You dont want your baby getting caught between the slats. Be sure that all posts are secure and free of any hazards. Most cribs come with either one or both sides that can be lowered to attend to baby needs and cleaning. Baby cribs have different mechanisms that are used to lower the side. These should be checked for proper working order. On used beds many times these mechanisms can have problems which can allow the sides to fall if not latched properly. The same holds true for new beds as latches can possibly be defective.

Baby crib mattresses are another area that can be a safety issue. Make sure that the mattress, whether it comes with the new crib or you are purchasing one, fits snuggly on all sides in the crib. Babies move and can get caught between the mattress and rails or head and foot boards. The mattress should be kept in the lowest possible position or closest to the floor.

Even though baby cribs come in different styles and sizes, you can be sure that they have the safest area possible to sleep by doing safety checks. Always thoroughly check out the crib from top to bottom to keep them safe. Babies depend on us to keep them safe, healthy and happy so dont forget to do your safety checks

Beating the Back Pain With The Right Mattress

Marc Carson | November 12, 2009

If ouch is the first word you say every morning you rise up on a traditional spring mattress, which can be either too soft or too hard on your body. If your old spring mattress is getting to you and giving you agonising backaches, in that case consider varying it with some kind of foam mattress.

The memory foam mattress was primarily developed by NASA for discharging body pressure of astronauts while in space. Not long after, the healing abilities of such mattress were identified by therapeutic societies to discharge the body aches of persons who were confined in the hospital beds for long periods. Thus, memory foam mattress was utilized within hospitals for fairly a lengthy duration before layman got to know it.

This kind of mattress was very pricy in the beginning because of the restricted makers of the product in the market. However, several manufacturers are now producing this kind of mattress, making the product somewhat affordable.

Conventional mattresses did not succeed to balance out the body weight of an individual on top of the mattress because it is produced with several springs, all using related amount of pressure against body. Since the body is soft in nature compare to the firm matters, it is not able to push back with equal force. This insufficient pressure causes poor blood circulation as well as back aches that you experience every morning.

However memory foam mattresses as well as memory foam topper work to eliminate your back pain is worthy to consider. These mattresses are an innovative sleeping technology that evenly distributes the load of the body and eases pressure points that aids you to sleep even better in the course of the night. It has the capability to eliminate backaches upon waking in the morning, reducing joint pains of about 85% and offering you a decent night’s sleep.

One ideal point which makes this memory foam an ultimate key to reducing back pains is its thickness and density. It’s in fact the mattresses’ density that makes the healing result, which makes it extra useful yet relaxing and comfortable.
