One day, when I was reading the Book of Revelation in my office, I suddenly felt something very tangible. Every time when I feel like the word of God is jumping out of the Bible, then I know I’m listening to what God is trying to say to me at that moment. I thought, wow, this is so powerful. I didn’t know its meaning, but it is powerful. As usual, my spirit felt it before my mind.

The verse I read was Revelation 19:10 ‘And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me. See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.’ I was completely touched by the last sentence. I immediately felt the power this verse implies. I know that what the Apostle John and all other Christian tasted is only a tiny little piece of what God prepared for his people.

I meditated on the verse for a few hours. I pray to the Holy Spirit and asked Him to reveal the verse to me deeper. And then He answered me with the sharing of a man called Jim. He came to speak to me about this testimony. He experienced God’s deliverance in his marriage. God restored the relationship of Jim and his wife with supernatural power. After he finished he told me to share the testimony to people who would benefit by hearing it.

The Holy Spirit revealed to me what the verse implies with Jim’s sharing. It felt like all the dots are joined together. And I understood that we can prophesy to people with others’ testimonies, just like what Jim told me.

Prophecy is often referred as words that tell the future. But more importantly, prophesying is a word that can change the current surrounding. It is a powerful word, no matter how simple it sounds but due to the supernatural power in it, it is able to prepare the way and atmosphere for miracles to break forth. It works like a catalyst.

The two assumptions Jim made are first, since God did this great thing for me, He would also do it for others; second, the proclamation of a testimony is a medium to pass the promise to other needy persons.

Many suppose that God is a faraway God. He does not appear to respond to their prayers. And he seems unfriendly since he does not show himself in person. They cannot feel his authority, therefore, since it seems that there is no direct contact. What they do not know is that God wants to be closer to us. As Kenneth Copeland Ministries would put it, God wants to begin a private and intimate connection with his people. But he cannot force us to respect his will. Only when we are ready and willing to admit him in our lives will he become a private God in our private lives.

God, from the very beginning, has been a present and warmhearted God. His hands have always been stretched afar to welcome people who want to take refuge in him. He has been waiting for us to hear his request and abide by his direction. But apparently his request falls on deaf ears. It is actually us who distance from him. But he is not one to relent and permit us to transgress and be gone. That is why he sent his only son, Jesus, to illustrate us his wonder and glory.

Jesus came to the world to fulfill God’s promise to deliver us from sinfulness and bring us back to his holy fold. But Jesus did not come in a godly form. Instead, he became human. As Kenneth Copeland Ministries would say it, he took upon himself flesh, and he became one of us, an ordinary human being. He was delivered to us by way of Mary, with the authority of the Holy Spirit, and was born in a modest place, not in a majestic palace. But not like us, he was exempt from the original sin because he is the begotten son of God.

Although he was the son of God, Jesus did not live an easy existence. He was not born to a regal family; instead he became a boy in a poor family with genuine hearts. Mary and Joseph gave him the parental direction each kid needs so that he would get ready to minister to God’s people when he matured. As a human being, he was subject to human desires, anguish, and temptations. But he resisted them all and showed us the stateliness of God. And as an extreme sacrifice, he followed God’s will, took his cross, and died in order to redeem us from immorality and award us redemption.

As the son of God, Jesus did not have to do all those sacrifices. He did not have to go after God’s will. He did not have to pass away on the cross. He could have lived a life out of his own will. But he chose not to, Kenneth Copeland Ministries reminds us, since he loves us so much that he laid down his life so that we may exist. And as the respectful child of God, he followed God’s will. He gave us a perfect example of how much belief we should have in God.

Being attached to a cross of wood as a death sentence, or crucifixion, was the cruelest penalty in Roman times. Being crucified involved acute pain and suffering, and the process could take days.

A person who was crucified was usually being punished for a capital crime or committing a serious offense, and it was the utmost punishment a person could receive. It is therefore important to remember the image that a cross would convey – an image of ultimate pain and suffering on earth.

Even in today’s terms, crucifixion still stands out as unusually cruel. There are many current news reports of people being tortured or subject to severe interrogation techniques, but few of these reports equate to the pain and suffering one would experience on the cross.

Unclothed, suffering wounds from beatings, nailed to a board with arms and legs mutilated, exposed to elements and creatures, and hanging for hours or even days until your life slowly ebbed away is an image that haunts the imagination in any era or civilization. Such punishment is or should be reserved for a truly evil being, a person who has defiled and mutilated fellow humans without remorse. In other words, a person who has forfeited their place as a member of the human family.

In contrast, punishing a just person, someone who healed and guided people, someone who demonstrated love to everyone, would be the ultimate injustice carried out, and an apparent triumph of evil. The victory of the cross is easy to miss.

Yet it is not just the triumph over evil that Christians celebrate on the cross, but the great sacrifice of a loving father, our father. He who wanted to show his love for us, to forgive us for all our wrongdoings, sacrificed his innocent son so that one day we could all learn of his love and come closer to him.

The cross was also a reminder for all Romans, a very severe warning, to not make the same mistakes or they also would face the same sentence. Putting the cross on view in public was a deterrent against future crime or at least it was supposed to be. Instead, it ended up being quite a motivator for all those affiliated with the church to take up their own crosses and share the message of this wrong committed against God’s only son.

What Christians must remember is that wearing a crucifix does not make one holy or protect that person from evil. The purpose of the crucifix is to serve as a personal reminder. It is a reminder of God’s love for all and his greatest sacrifice. It also reminds us of the evil within us that, if unchecked, could go on a rampage and destroy everything innocent in its path.

For Christians, the cross is reminder of the value of life and the boundless reaches of love.

God reveal his secret and will to people through dreams. It can be evidenced by many real encounters from people in Bible and people living nowadays. Sometimes people may not fully understand what indeed the God wants to tell them. This can always be helped by understanding more of the dreams that were already described in the Bible. Let us use the book of Genesis to be our start point to understand more about dreams.

As recorded in Gen 15:12, Abram had a dream of the Lord who had a promise to his offspring. God said to Abram: “Truly, your seed will be living in a land which is not theirs, as servants to a people who will be cruel to them for four hundred years.” That was later fulfilled that the Egyptians were cruel to the Israel people until the God saved them out.

Gen 20:3, Abraham this time was on the journey to the south country and he stayed in Gerar for some times. Sarah, Abraham’s wife was taken to the Abimelech king as Abraham said Sarah was his sister. In the night, Abimelech heard that God said he was a dead man because he took other man’s wife. Abimelech was frightened and let Sarah go back to Abraham when he woke up next morning. Abraham prayed for Abimelech and his wife and they bore their children.

In Gen 28:10, Jacob went out from Beer-sheba to go to Haran. He made himself a resting-place for the night when the sun had gone down. And he had a dream, and in his dream he saw steps stretching from earth to heaven. And he saw the Lord by his side, saying: “I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac. I will give to you and to your seed this land on which you are sleeping.”

In Gen 31:10 Jacob had married Laban’s daughter Rachel. The countenance of Laban was not toward him as before. The Lord said to Jacob to return to the land of his fathers. Jacob later saw in a dream ringstreaked, speckled and grisled cattle. An angle of God spoke to him that he had seen what Laban had done to Jacob. Later Jacob and his wives and sons left Laban as told by the angle of God.

In Gen 31:24, when Laban was told that Jacob was fled he took his brethren with him to pursue after Jacob. In the night, God told Laban and said to him that Laban should not speak to Jacob either good or bad.

Dream is certainly God’s way of communication. There are more scriptures in Genesis talking about dreams especially those for Joseph. When you read through the scriptures about dreams, do believe in God would like to talk to you through dreams.

Ken Copeland is a famous personality and the founder of the Christian organization Kenneth Copeland Ministries. He was born on December 6, 1936 in Lubbock, Texas. He is a great author, speaker, televangelist, word of faith proponent. When he was born, he was not a Christian but later on he accepted the Christian religion in November 1962.

Before his conversion to Christian religion Ken Copeland was recording artist of partial Native American descent. Some of his works touched the top 40 hits of the year. The most famous was “Pledge of love” which was listed at number 12 in the top 40 hits. It was listed on April 20, 1957 and stayed in the list of top 40 for around eight weeks.

When he was converted to the Christian religion, he decided to devote his whole life to Christian ministry work. In the 1960s, he was a pilot and chauffeur for Oral Roberts. In late 1967 he enrolled in Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Then he became the member of the board in Oral Roberts University. There was no special name for the board. It is just named as Oral Roberts University board. He remained the member of the board till 2008 and after that the board was changed. A new board was formed and that board promised to hold to higher standards of financial accountability. There was a change in board because a case was put on university for doing wrong financial and political acts in October 2007. After that that the oldest daughter of Ken Copeland named Terri married to pastor George Pearsons. He was the chairman of the board of Oral Toberts University till January 2008.

The Christian ministries founded by Ken Copeland grew in full 1970s and in the end of 1979 it first time came on television as “Believer’s Voice of Victory”. The headquarters of ministries is in Newark, Texas. Its other international offices are in Australia, Africa, Canada, United Kingdom and Ukraine. Ken Copeland ministries are also actively involved in ministry of prison inmates in 23 countries.

Some of the teachings of Ken Copeland received some criticism. The major of these teachings was on wealth which was provided in “word Faith Movement”. Other were his claims about faith healings and he also claimed that Bible believers could receive a hundredfold return on their giving as found in Genesis 26:12, Mark 4:20, Mark 10:29-30, Luke 6:38, II Corinthians 9:6-12 and Galatians 3:13-14 of the Bible.

The most popular teaching of Ken Copeland is Praise God. Praise Him in the morning. Praise Him at noon. Praise Him at night. If you have never praised God in your life, then get started right now. Praise Him for freedom. Praise Him for healing and Calvary. Praise Him for the Name of Jesus. There is a common question that everybody asks him and it is about the meaning of “Born Again”. But the question arises why everybody asks this? This is because Lord Jesus mentioned the word born again for the first time.

Do you remember the old photo booths that used to be in stores and shopping centers? You could get in the booth with a friend, get in the right position, check your image on the screen, insert some coins, and get ready for the pictures.

SNAP! Change positions quickly and SNAP! Change once more and another SNAP! You move rapidly to a new pose and hear the final SNAP! Four poses and four pictures. Then comes the hard part. You step out of the booth to wait for that little strip of pictures to drop through the slot and into the wire pocket on the side of the booth.

It was always fun to get the photos taken, but waiting for the developed shots wasn’t so much fun. It really didn’t take that long, but it felt like forever.

This can actually be pretty relevant in life. For me, when things seem to be going fine and my life is moving ahead rather quickly, I feel God telling me to slow down and wait. I want to keep moving or do something new, but God tells me not to. That’s not what I want to hear in those situations. I want things to be done in my own timing and when opportunities seem to arise I want to move ahead on them while they are still there.

Throughout my life I learned some hard lessons that in those times when God chooses to not answer my prayers right away in my own timing, I need to take the focus off of my agenda and simply focus on Him. This is when I know that He loves and cares for me and I trust that He will care for me in His timing as He knows what is best.

God is faithful, and I know this. Because he is faithful I can wait and know that when His timing comes, all things will work out according to His plan.

Lord, during those times when I am struggling to have patience and wait on your timing, give me that patience that I need and help me to understand that you are still in control.

You’ve heard the saying, “Talking is sharing. Listening is caring,” haven’t you? I saw it on a sign in front of a church a couple of years ago, and it caught my eye. In the last few weeks, I’ve seen it again several times. I’m not sure who first said it, but it really is true.

In one of the devotionals that I sent out to my subscriber list I wrote about a rough time in my life that I was going through and how God’s Word had been a great comfort to me. When I wrote that devotional I had no idea that I would get such a warm response from readers. I had calls from friends and emails from readers that I don’t even know personally. Many of them told me that they were there for me if I wanted to talk to someone.

The fact that these people were willing to take the time to write an encouraging note, or even to call, meant so much to me. It should me that they were listening and that they cared about me. Those facts were obvious and it had a big impact on how I was feeling.

Our lives are crazy, always going straight from one thing to the next with little time to think or relax in between. In these busy times in which we live, many of us are not as committed to listening as we should be. It’s easy for us to be like this, but making some changes in our habits can make a big impact for others.

By listening to someone else you are showing that you care about them. If you didn’t care you wouldn’t be willing to give them your time and attention, which is what typically happens in today’s world. Listening is extremely powerful and can have a profound impact on the strength of relationships. When you listen to someone else you are showing them God’s love.

Throughout the four Gospels we read stories of Jesus listening to people. In most cases these are average, ordinary people that wouldn’t get the attention of religious leaders of that day. In other cases they were prominent people, like Nicodemus. Nicodemus was a Jewish leader that talked to Jesus about the miracles He was performing and His teaching of the people.

In the book of John we read about Jesus listing to “the woman at the well” She was a shamed and sinful woman that he encountered at the well. Other religious leaders would have never thought to give her any attention, but Jesus did. None of the things that mattered to other leaders of that time (such as gender, religion, status, profession, etc.) stopped Jesus from listening to someone. He demonstrated an amazing model for us to follow.

To my friends who showed that they were willing to listen, thank you. The situation that I was dealing with is no behind me.

Lord, thank You for giving me amazing friends and family that care about me. Thank You for using them to show Your love. Help me to be as willing to listen to others as they have been willing to listen to me.

As a counselor I see people all the time who are seeking to change some area of their life. As you study the Bible you’ll see that there are five specific elements that are needed before you will be able to achieve that change and reach a stage of healing.

Aside from the Bible, my favorite book is The Search for Significance by Robert McGee. McGee concludes that each of the five elements must be present in your life in order to have true healing and lifelong change. Here are the five elements that he writes of:

1. Honesty with God, with others and with yourself – Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom, (Psalm 51:6).

2. Affirming Relationships – The Bible speaks of the responsibility of friends and family to confront, encourage, and build up christian brothers and sisters. We read of the need to bear each other’s burdens. Part of change and healing is having healthy relationships with others who will do this for us.

3. Beliefs and thoughts that are based on Scripture – Just as important, we need to believe in the Word of God and live based on its teachings.

4. The leading of the Holy Spirit – We must be willing to be led by the Holy Spirit in order to make permanent changes in our lives and to reach a stage of healing.

5. Time – We need to be willing to work towards change and healing with some patience, rather than expecting it to happen overnight. Whether it is addiction recovery, forgiving someone for a hurtful action, or whatever else may be the source of pain in our lives, time is needed, in addition to all of the other four elements.

Yes, all five of the elements are truly necessary, but honesty is listed first for a reason. Honesty must come before any of the other elements are possible, and no change will ever happen without that honesty being part of the equation. If you are struggling, pray that God would help you to see any areas in your life that need to change.

We need to be willing to admit that we have a problem in order to move forward with the changing process. We also need to have a close friend who we can rely on to work with us and hold us accountable. Honesty is necessary with this person as well. Honesty is truly the first step towards change and healing!

Daniel was a prophet. He received the special gift from God for interpretation of dreams. The ruling of Jerusalem was given by the God from Jehoiakim king of Judah to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.

When Nebuchadnezzar king was in his ruling, he commanded to bring forth the blemish-free, wise, skillful and knowledgeable children to palace to learn Chaldeans. Daniel and his three friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah were brought to the palace and lived there. God had mercies on the four children and gave them knowledge, skill and wisdom. Meat and wine were commanded by the king to provide to the four children and other chosen ones. But the four children purposed hi their hearts that they would not defile themselves. Therefore, pulse and water were brought to them as God brought Daniel into favor and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.

One day, Nebuchadnezzar king had a dream. He was so anxious about the dream that he could not sleep. He brought forth the magicians, astrologers, sorcerers and Chaldeans and asked them for dream interpretation. When the servants asked the king to tell them his dream, the king said he had already forgotten but he would cut them into pieces if the servants could not provide the interpretation. The Chaldeans therefore answered the king that there is no one except God could interpret the dream for him. The king was very angry and ordered to destroy all the wise men.

Arioch, the captain of guards told Daniel about the destroy of wise men. Daniel went to the King and promised for dream interpretation if the king gave him time. Daniel then went back to his three friends. They prayed together for the mercy of the God to reveal the meanings of the dream. The secret was then revealed to Daniel in a night vision.

When Daniel went to Nebuchadnezzar king and he began to interpret the dream. He said the king saw a great image standing before him, whose brightness was excellent. The image’s head was of fine gold; the breast and arms of silver; legs of iron; feet of iron and clay. A stone smote the feet of the image. The whole image turned into fragments and piled up as a great mountain.

Daniel told the king that the golden head represented Nebuchadnezzar king, meaning that the God had already given the king kingdom, power, strength and glory. After his reign, there would be three more kingdoms. The three kingdoms were characterized by the material that made the different parts of the great image. In these days, the God would use a kingdom, which is ever standing to break the three kingdoms.

Nebuchadnezzar king fell upon his face and worshipped Daniel and commanded to offer him an oblation and sweet odors. That was how the faith in Daniel and his friends saved themselves and all the wise men of Babylon.
