Information On Using Colored Contact Lenses

Eliza Melzono | January 20, 2010

Attending a good costume party isn’t only for Halloween anymore. You can go to a costume party anytime, and New Year’s Eve is the best time. Consider a themed party this New Year’s Eve for a fun new way to celebrate.

The list of themes is endless, and a very popular one for New Year’s Eve is a vampire. To set yourself aside from all the other vampires you should consider contacts to get everyone talking.

It should be very easy to get ideas for the food, decorations, costumes and music of your party since vampires are so popular in the media right now. There are a ton of ways to design your costume, but the most important part is vampire contacts. If you don’t wear contacts often, it could be helpful to get information about which pair to choose.

There is no difference between contacts that are used to change one’s eye color and costume contacts. Colored contacts are colored, that’s it. The part that covers our iris is colored, but where your pupil is stays clear so your vision will stay the same.

Vampire contact lenses are used to change the color of your eyes, usually to blood red or ghastly white the way other lenses alter your eye color to blue or green. The vampire lenses are made by the same well respected brand names popular in the eye care industry.

Cooper Vision and Ciba Vision both manufacture lines of costume contacts including those perfect for any vampire ensemble. There are other contact producers on the market, but it’s wise to stick to the trusted eye care manufacturers.

You do not want to damage your eyes forever just to save a few dollars. Go to your ophthalmologist for the best fit or go online. Many well known companies allow you to buy their products online, which could help you save money.

Interesting Info On Contact Lenses

Eliza Melzono | January 18, 2010

I was really surprised by how easily an optometrist could lay a corrective lens over an eye fixing a defect in your precious sight. This correctly lens better known as a contact lens. Many look at eye problems in a much different way now. In the past people had to worry with how aesthetically terrible it was to wear massive glasses. But now people can retain their beautiful eyes with contact lenses.

Two varieties of lens are available. RGP or better known as Rigid Gas Permeable lenses and soft lenses. Soft lens are matched well to their name. They are soft and very easy on the eye that wear them due to the fact they are mostly made of moisture. But due to how soft they are, they do not last very long. They last a maximum of one year if treated correctly.

Rigid gas permeable lenses, however, are hard and have only a tiny amount of moisture when compared side to side with soft contacts. There are a couple main benefits to RGP lenses in that they tend to provide the wearer with clearer vision, and they do not trap debris.

Each lens is created for a specific problem of each individual eye. It would be a bad idea to go into a store and request lenses without the appropriate diagnosis from a professional optometrist.

The Toric lens is another variety of lens made for a very specific purpose. These lenses are created to help those with astigmatism. This affliction basically blurs both near and far images.

Proclear lenses are a second kind of lens that are made to relieve dry eyes. These cutting-edge lenses mix human cell components that occur naturally with scientific advances in lenses. Proclear lenses are able to hold onto their own water and do not have to use the eyes’ water. These features make the lenses last longer, while lowering the risk of more harm to the eyes as well.

It’s in your best interest to always see a professional eye specialist if you notice that your eye sight is suffering. If you attempt to get lens for yourself, you may end up hurting your eyes further. Always consult an optometrists before proceeding.

Framing the Eye with Mascara

Trisha Martill |

Mascara is used to enhance the eyes by thickening, lengthening and darkening eyelashes. In the past there were three forms of this product available, liquid, cake and cream. The core ingredients were black coal dust and petroleum jelly. Nowadays the cake variety is almost never purchased for everyday use. The main target audience is stage actors. Current products use various colorants and wax to create particular results. Most formulas are cream or liquid. This allows for speedy, easy application using a brush or wand created particularly for this reason.

Mascara brushes vary from one brand to the next, and are developed to produce different effects. Various brushes are straight which thicken and extend the lashes. Others are curved to curl the lashes while thickening and lengthening. This makes the eyes look bigger and brighter. Liquid and cream formulations are packaged in small, narrow tubes, which allows for easy storage and swift application. The two key kind sold today are non-waterproof and waterproof formulas. Non-waterproof formulas consist of water combined with naturally derived pigments and wax.

Though effortlessly removed with mild soap and water, it will run if it gets soaked. Waterproof formulas use components alike those used in oil and latex-based paints. To get rid of it, a makeup remover should be used to diminish the amount of lash breakage and to help keep them moisturized. Due to the chemicals used, many women who have sensitive skin experience allergic reactions. Mascara is a simple, economical way for a woman to alter her face.

If you have thin lashes, mascara will make them thicker and seem fuller. If your lashes are light, it will darken them. Short lashes can be lengthened and curled attracting attention to the eyes. As well to the waterproof and non-waterproof formulas, there are also alternatives for colored or clear formulations. For a more natural appearance, try a shade of brown or a clear option. It will thicken, divide and lengthen the lashes without giving the eyes a “made-up” look.

Black defines the eyes and when used in conjunction with eye shadow and eyeliner, it can frame the eyes, making them the true focal point of the face. For a fun, interesting look, try mascara in jewel tones, such as blue, violet or burgundy. If you haven’t found the perfect look yet, keep trying. New formulations are being introduced every year. Competition is fierce and the results are beautiful.

Lilash Reviews. Several Helpful Information If You Are Interested

Melanie A. Thompson | December 27, 2009

When looking at using a new beauty product reading Lilash reviews can be a great way to determine user satisfaction. If the majority of individuals love the product then this is positive and you are more likely to try the product. Lilash is a product that is considered an eyelash enhancer and is very easy to use. Many women try to enhance their eyes using a variety of products but Lilash works on the lashes themselves instead of coating them.

For many years the only option to get fuller lashes was by using mascara or by applying fake eyelashes. Today there are several different products available and a very successful product is Lilash.

This product is all natural and will not irritate your eyes like other products that contain harsh chemicals. The vast majority of users notice results in a short amount of time and are very pleased with their lashes.

Reviews that state that Lilash will provide overnight results are false as those that use the product know that it takes several days to start noticing results. Nothing works over night specifically when you are discussing hair growing and your eyelash is a type of hair.

The all natural compounds in Lilash are known from making your eyelashes stronger, decreasing breakage, providing protection from pollution and promoting eyelash growth.

Lilash works particularly well on brittle eyelashes but you do need to realize that you eyelash length is part of your genetics and nothing can change that. If you already have the fullest eyelashes possible for your genetics then there is not much Lilash can do.

To read more detailed Lilash Reviews, pros, cons and potential side effects of this lash treatment visit Eyelash-Growth.com – site that reviews various products to grow eyelashes. This site was made to educate customers about effective tips to make longer and thicker lashes.

Good contact lens care can provide the owner with comfort and durability. The care needed depends on the type of contact lenses that are used. When considering the right contact lenses, you should consider the care and cleaning in your final decision.

The first contact lenses to be introduced to the public were made of glass and very difficult to wear. The wearers often complained that they irritated their eyes and they could not get used to them. It still takes some getting use to for someone who has never worn contact lenses, but they are a lot less irritating and hard to wear.

There are a number of different choices when considering contact lenses. The extended wear types will allow up to two weeks wear and then they should be tossed out. Prolonged use of contact lenses is not recommended unless prescribed by your doctor. Inserting your contacts after using hairspray or applying makeup is not suggested as either product can irritate the lens. The cleaning of your contacts daily is also recommended so that there will be no foreign objects or infection to the eye. Checking your contact lenses daily for scratches or nicks will ensure good vision.

The types and styles of lenses is usually up to the wearer. There are kinds that called non corrective contact lenses that have colored lenses. Trent Skinner | December 24, 2009

“I don’t understand why my eyes have weakened I’ve always had perfect eyesight” sound familiar? Unfortunately it’s an all too common expression made which could have very simply been prevented with a little care and attention. Many of us have taken for granted just how complicated yet delicate our eyes really are. Even with such delicacy the opening allows light to enter for the soul purpose of vision granting us the pleasure of outstanding beauty.

In today’s world abnormally high pressures, mental and emotional worries, injury, varying illnesses and interestingly pregnancy can be a major contributing factor to visual impairments. Common types range from stigmatisms, glaucoma, cataracts to both far and nearsightedness to name a few. Such impairments seem to be on the rise while affecting more and more young ones as time goes by.

Fashion

Fashion, you read correctly. Not all of us look good wearing glasses and for some it’s the simple case of “who really wants to spend time coordinating eyewear and wardrobes?” Having said this some simply find it too hard to adjust to the alternate lifestyle of wearing glasses or for that matter contact lenses.

Great Vision

Clear vision’ is there anything more you have to say to convince yourself? Properly not but certainly makes for a strong enough reason to consider LASIK surgery.

Occupation

In some cases ones occupation may benefit from clear unaided vision. Although sometimes taken lightly, glasses as well as contact lenses do have a degree of risk if not properly cared for and could be hazardous placed in the wrong environment.

Happily the FDA has researched and provided vital information which will help to guide you in your decisions while helping you to determine if you really are eligible for such a procedure. It is imperative that you consider all your facts, procedures as well as cost. Of course regardless of what you’re doing hidden costs should always be added in as this could impact your overall well being.

5 Tips To Help You Not Get A Contact Lens Infection

Joseph Oklert | December 20, 2009

Many people wear contact lenses. There are a lot of people with eye correction needed that prefer to wear contact lenses instead of glasses. It is very important that people that wear lenses learn how to prevent infections. Infections are costly because you have to undergo treatments which are sometimes expensive. You also will have healthier eyes.

Here are some tips about how to avoid contact lens infection

1. Let your contact lens soak in solution.

If you have disposable contact lens then it would be necessary to follow the lens care instructions provided by manufacturers and health professionals. Primarily, soaking your contact lens prevents the growth of microorganisms such as fungi and other kinds of bacteria as well. In some cases, you need more drastic moves in cleaning your lens. This can be done with the use of special solution tablets which can also remove calcium and protein deposits. Knowing how to cleanse your lens properly can prevent harm to the eyes.

2. Choosing a contact lens solution should be done carefully.

You should not just grab the first bottle that says contact lens solution. If you want to avoid contact lens infection then you should take extra care in choosing the best solution. A good cleansing solution should be able to remove not just calcium and protein deposits in the lens but also the bacteria that may house on it. It is also important to choose one that has the ability to moisten and lubricate the lenses so you can be free from eye irritation. Your chosen lens solution should be approved by your doctor.

3. Good hygiene is key.

We know that we all have lazy days but not being able to practice good hygiene with your contact lens can lead you to infection. You should at all times maintain the discipline when it comes to regular contact lens care and cleaning. You can avoid contact lens infection if you follow the prescribed instructions as per the process and the frequency of cleaning or changing your contacts.

4. Do not wear your contact lenses past their “life expectancy”.

If you want to save money it can be a he mistake to extend the life of your contacts. Over extending the life and use of contact lenses can lead you to infection caused by lack of lens moisture and also of the growth of microorganisms which can all be harmful. The best way to avoid contact lens infection is to follow the prescribed period of use for each set of lens.

5. Know the signs of an infection.

Being knowledgeable in the symptoms of eye or contact lens infection can save you from a worsening condition. If you suffer form blurry vision, redness, pain, increasing sensitivity to light or excessive discharge from your eyes, then it would be best to consult a doctor immediately as these are the common signs of contact lens information. Going to a doctor immediately can either help you avoid contact lens infection or save you from worse medical conditions.
