So why is Medicare not sustainable? Some people actually say that Medicare was already bankrupt in’65, when it was introduced under Lyndon Johnson, while others expect to collapse within the next 10 years.

When the Medicare Modernization Act of 2003 was signed into law by George W. Bush, it was done as a way of “honoring the commitments of Medicare to all our seniors.” But he might not have anticipated the consequences of being in a society where there are more elderly people than young people. He also probably didn’t think that the economy would collapse as much as it has over the past six or seven years.

What is Gods will for His children? It is to have abundance and prosperity in every aspect of their lives. How can we be sure about this? First of all it is Gods nature to be good. Moreover, His will and promises are written clearly in the Scriptures–words that have seen centuries of lives transformed through knowing His purposes and desires. So how can I get to the wealth that is reserved for me? Is there a prosperity prayer out there that God will hear and answer?

First of all, understand that it is not the prayer but you that touch the Father’s heart. It is His desire to show Himself mighty for your sake so scratch whatever plans you had about groveling. Notice the world. When was the last time a sunset took your breath away? It was created for you. You have to know this because an intimate knowledge of His heart will make you put your faith in His divine providence.

We agree that it is Gods wish to bless you with abundance and prosperity–what else is there to do? You need to do something very important. Search the scriptures for His promises and declare it to be true in your life each day. If you speak out His words concerning your life, you are in effect voicing out a powerful prosperity prayer for your life. You can begin with something like this:

Father God, You are worthy to be praised for who You are. You alone are Lord, holy and mighty above everything (Luke 1:49) Nothing is impossible with you. (Jeremiah 32:27) In Your generosity You have given the whole earth for man. (Psalm 115:16; Jeremiah 27:5) You want the best for me (Matthew 7:11; Luke 11:13) And you want to see me rich, (Proverbs 28:35) Because of Your love for me. (Jeremiah 31:3)

So here I stand claiming your promises; You are God and You cannot lie. (Titus 1:2) You make a way when no way is visible to us, (Joshua 2:10) And you empower me to produce wealth, (Deuteronomy 8:18) Beyond anything I could ever imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)

There is power in Your Word (Hebrews 1:3) It frames the whole world as we know it. (Hebrews 11:3) I agree and speak out Your Word, I trust that it will be as You said. Thank You Father, Your goodness and love surrounds me. I bless Your Name, Amen.

I used to find it confusing when people talk of money and the religion in the same breath. There are a lot of scriptures that talk about spiritual matters; and many wear poverty as a badge of piousness that should be admired. Does that make having money a bad thing? Do you either have money on earth or your soul in heaven?

Its a good thing that as we progressed in knowledge; the light of true biblical prosperity was also revealed. The good news is we dont have to be poor to earn Gods favor. Quite the opposite, God wants to pour out abundance and prosperity in our lives.

So we ask, what then does God say about money and possessions? Several bible verses relating to biblical prosperity give us the answers. First of all, God wants His people to prosper (Genesis 12:1-3; Psalm 35:27; John 10:10). Once there was a man God called out to a foreign land and he obeyed. His name was Abraham. His faith was rewarded with so much wealth and favor among men; he also got his most cherished gift”a beloved son. As you can see, God provided this miracle for Abraham on top of all his blessings because God is a generous God.

Tithing is an essential part in walking in God’s plan of prosperity (Leviticus 27:30; Malachi 10:10). Of course God does not need money. He owns the whole universe he has no use for money. He has use for faith. Tithing reflects this and this gives God something to work with in pouring out blessings into your life. It’s uncomfortable at first but God will always provide for those who trust in Him.

Prosperity is then a return of your investment in God (Luke 6:38; Deuteronomy 28; Matthew 6:33). Your tithes and offerings, your obedience to His law, partaking in His work here on earth– these are all seeds planted on fertile ground. It is all accounted for and a bountiful harvest is coming your way. You do not give in order to be ‘paid back’. No, you can afford to give because you know God is abundantly generous to give you more than what you asked for.

Media and society paints a pretty picture of wealth. While money allows you a comfortable life and frees you from worries that poor people have”it does not free you from the responsibility God clearly expects from you that comes alongside riches (Mark 10:17; Luke 12:48; 1 Timothy 6:17). God created things so by all means, enjoy owning them. However, it is not something you should put your trust in. Having an unhealthy obsession with money makes many people sin and God will not allow that for His children. Guard your heart and keep your priorities straight.

Finally, God empowers us to create wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18; 2 Corinthians 8; Philippians 4:14-18). He wants to bless us so that we ourselves can be a blessing to other. As we allow ourselves to be used by God, expect grace and favor to abound supernaturally in your life.

Abundance and prosperity should never be utilized for self gain and pride. That is not what it’s for. Take pleasure in the work of your hands and the fruits of your labor; however never forget that it cannot replace relationships with God and your fellow man. True wealth is about being healthy, being generous and being happy in God. Be all that you can be and money will find its way to you.
