Why Dirtboarding Is Great

Baxter Wells | January 27, 2010

If you haven’t heard or tried mountainboarding before (also called dirtboarding or all terrain boarding), you are missing out. It is the best boarding sport around (in my opinion of course) and in this article I am going to tell you exactly why I think that. Here are 6 reasons why mountainboarding is awesome.

If you like the outdoors, this sport should already appeal to you. It is all about being outside and having fun. You can enjoy the great outdoors and feel closer to nature. Mountainboarding gives you a great excuse to go outside and explore nature.

Exercise is important. It doesn’t have to be boring though. Why not have fun and get exercise at the same time? You can have fun dirtboarding and get a good workout without even realizing it. From all the walking up and riding down hills that takes place in this extreme sport, you are sure to get a good workout.

If you want more adrenaline in your life, bombing down hills while feeling the wind and seeing the ground rushing under your feet will definitely give you a boost. Your heart will be racing and you’ll be ready to go down again once you reach the bottom.

People looking for a challenge will love all that this extreme sport has to offer. The challenge never stops as there are always bigger hills and harder tricks to master. If you aren’t into the challenge and just want to have fun, this sport can be as hard as you want it to be. You can stick to the mild slopes and enjoy a relaxing day of riding.

The possibilities and riding locations are endless. You have lots of options of where you can ride. You aren’t only restricted to pavement like skateboarders are. You can ride on grass, dirt, pavement, and go all sorts of different places. Some riders ride grass hills, dirt trails, dirt roads, paved roads, and a few even go to skateparks.

After a day of mountainboarding, I know I always feel better. It is a stress reliever for me. When I go down a hill or trail I forget everything, and all my stresses are forgotten. It is a great stress reliever and the outdoor air helps as well.

That completes the six reasons why all terrain boarding is an awesome recreational hobby or sport. You get to be outside in the great outdoors, get some healthy exercise, have your eyes light up while you bomb down hills, be as challenged as you want, have tons of options so you are never bored, and when you are done you come back feeling refreshed.

Have You Heard About Mountainboarding?

Tony Briggs | January 26, 2010

There are practically no limits in the extreme sport of mountainboarding. Take for example skateboarding and snowboarding. They can only be done on one type of terrain; hard surfaces, and snow. This sport on the other hand, isn’t like that. Dirt doesn’t melt, and it isn’t limited to just paved surfaces.

Want to know why you should give this sport a try? I’ll tell you why tomorrow you should buy a mountainboard and get started right away!

If you want to get exercise, try this sport out. The ride down is exhilarating, and will get your heart pumping. The walk up is great exercise because you have to carry the board up while walking uphill. It sure beats running on a treadmill, or using an exercise bike and going nowhere! Why stay caged up in a gym when you could go outside and enjoy some fresh air while getting a good workout? Working out doesn’t have to be boring, with mountainboarding you can have fun while you burn calories!

Mountainboarding is fun. Riding one of these boards is a thrilling experience. When you reach the bottom you’d have to be a zombie to not let out a smile or not think it was fun.

With this sport there’s always new challenges waiting for you. If you like challenges, there is always a bigger hill or a harder trick to master. You are always challenged every time you step on your board!

Itching to be outside more? Need a new hobby that lets you enjoy fresh air and mother nature? With a mountainboard, the world becomes a humongous skateboard park, giving you a great reason to go outside and ride it. You can ride on grass hills, dirt trails, or anywhere you want.

Snow melts, dirt doesn’t. If you are a snowboarder you can pick up this sport in the off season. If you live in a warm climate, it gives you a chance to have fun year round!

There you have it, five great reasons why you need to try the thrilling sport of mountainboarding.

If you want exercise, fun, a challenge, fresh air, and a board sport with little boundaries, this sport may be what you are looking for.

The Benefits Of Using An HPA Tank On Your Paintball Gun

Gary Garrett | January 20, 2010

Just as a beginner to a sport doesn’t go out and invest thousands of dollars on the top gear, most paintballers don’t opt for the most expensive equipment.

Markers that are more affordable are usually powered by CO2. This power source works just find for many paintballers, but if you want all the edge you can get, a HPA tank is a better choice (but more expensive).

The top reason for switching to compressed air (also known as HPA) is because of improved performance. Anyone that wants better performance should change power sources.

What is improved when you make the switch? Well first of all consistency is largely improved. CO2 doesn’t like to provide consistent performance during periods of rapid fire. HPA however, provides consistent performance during rapid firing.

CO2 has difficulty expanding fast enough from liquid to gas when you are shooting fast. No one wants to have their paintballs fly at unpredictable distances when they are trying to hit a target.

If you often play in the winter months using CO2 can be detrimental to your markers performance. You can think of cold weather as CO2s worst enemy when it comes to shooting it through your paintball marker.

Your gun can sometimes “freeze up” when you are unloading the paint in cold weather. The liquid literally freezes the inside of your gun and wrecks its performance, sometimes even causing it to stop working until it can unfreeze.

When it is cold out, your marker may start shooting out what looks like to be snow. It can also make a cloud shoot out or your marker and tank to become extremely cold.

CO2 exists in both gas and liquid. In the case of most paintball markers, liquid is bad and when it gets in the gun it will cause poor performance. HPA tanks are nothing but compressed air, so there is no liquid, and no problems during rapid fire.

So, if you are a paintballer that wants the best performance they can get from his marker, investing in a compressed air tank is a must.

Paintball – The Problems With Using CO2 With Your Marker

Gary Garrett | January 19, 2010

This article will tell you a little about CO2 and the problems that can happen when using it. While it is inferior to compressed air, it is more affordable. Compressed air is much more dependable.

Most players will be just fine using CO2. They can play for years and years with it and still have fun playing paintball. If you want to save money and don’t really care about improving your gun’s performance then there is no reason to upgrade. Some markers work much better on CO2 than others, so many players chose not to upgrade.

In colder temperatures you can have a lot of problems with CO2. You can have sudden changes in velocity, have what looks like snow shoot out of our barrel, your gun may sputter, choke, it may become so cold that you cant hold your gun anymore, or the tank may become the same way. Your gun may even freeze up.

You probably will experience these problems during periods of rapid shooting. When you are rapidly firing it is usually during a time when it is extremely important that you get lots of paintballs in the air. It is during times like these that you especially don’t want any problems to arise.

There is both liquid and gas inside of a CO2 tank. It is the gas you want your gun to use, and not the liquid, as it is what causes problems. As you shoot your gun, more of the liquid will turn into gas. When you shoot faster than the liquid can convert to gas, the liquid will enter your gun and cause problems.

You don’t want liquid to enter your gun because it causes horrible consistency. One shot may travel a normal distance, but when you shoot fast, each shot after it may travel shorter and shorter.

Having inconsistent velocity can greatly affect your ability to hit your target. Many times, it helps to be able to shoot a stream of paint to keep someone in their bunker, or to hit a moving target. With each shot going not as far as the first one, it makes it difficult to do either.

The solution to all your CO2 woes is HPA (or compressed air). It is consistent from shot to shot, and isn’t affected by cold weather. Velocity during rapid firing is more consistent.

Paintball – Why Paintball Is Awesome

Gary Garrett | January 15, 2010

Paintball is awesome. It is a great sport to play and I love to play it. Without a doubt it is my favorite extreme sport, and I always look forward to playing it every chance I get. Here I will tell you why I think paintball is awesome.

The thrill and excitement in this sport is unlike any other sport I have ever taken part in. It is suspenseful, exciting and exhilarating to play. From the beginning of the game to the end it is on the edge of your seat excitement filled with ducking, flanking, shooting, running, ambushing, and crawling.

You could play thousands of games but every game will be different from the next. Each game you play, something different will happen, so each game is as exciting as the first one. For a change you can play at a different field with a different layout and the game changes again.

You can take a different approach each game. You can go out paintball marker blazing and play super aggressive, you can play sneaky and ambush a group of opponents, you can play like a sniper, or you can suck your thumb and curl up in a fetal position. The point is, every game you can change your playing style.

Just as NASCAR racers tune and customize their cars how they want them, paintballers customize their markers exactly how they want them. There are hundreds of ways you can customize your marker and as a paintballer, your marker is a reflection of you as a player. You not only get to pick the marker that suits you, but you also can customize your marker exactly how you want it. It’s always fun to look at other people’s markers to see what set up they have.

I could give you more reasons why paintball rocks, but these are my top reasons. If you haven’t played it, I recommend it as a very exciting and action packed sport. It isn’t for everyone mind you, because getting shot by a paintball does sting, but for me and many others, the chance of pain is well worth it.

Before you spend too much money buying gear, check out all thepaintballing gear and find cheap paintball guns for sale at great prices.

All Terrain Skateboarding – Why You Need To Try It!

Baxter Wells |

This article could go on for ages with hundreds of reasons why I think you should hop on an all terrain skateboard (also known as mountain boarding or dirtboarding) right now and give it a go, but for the sake of time I’ll tell you what I think are the best reasons why you should try all terrain skateboarding.

Do you feel like your life is boring and void of excitement? Dirtboarding may be your ticket to a daily, weekly or monthly show filled with adrenaline and thrill. This extreme sport is exactly the kind of sport that it says it is, “extreme.”

Exercise is good for you, and most of us do not get enough of it. If you want to get fun exercise this sport is full of it.

Love the outdoors? Like to explore and hike out in nature? If you do, that’s great, because this extreme sport gets you outside so you can enjoy the fresh air, explore for new riding spots, hike up trails, hills, and ride down them.

Mountain boarding is challenging, that’s for sure. Many of us enjoy a good challenge, and like to push ourselves, always trying to conquer the next biggest hill, a more complex trick, or win the next boardercross race (mountain boarding races are called boardercross).

Mountain boarding makes me feel great. I think it is the combination of the fresh air, the thrill, and challenge of riding that puts me in a good mood. It feels good to ride down a hill and not fall over. It even feels good to me to fall over and get up, because I find that there is something encouraging about being able to fall off and get back on. It is a great stress reliever and great pick me up.

That completes my best reasons for why you should get out there and give dirtboarding a try. However, you’ll never know what dirtboarding is truly like unless you try it for yourself, so get out there and try it!

Astronomy The Key To The Stars

Hermil M. | January 4, 2010

Many science experts agree that astronomy is all about a love for learning. Did you know that astronomy is one of humanity’s oldest sciences? The truth is that astronomy was one of the first things that mankind ever studied. The study of our solar system and all the other stars is not a new science, but it is a science non the less. A science for humanity. The funny thing is that astronomy is something that everyone has heard of but what they know very little about.

Astronomy has become a huge night time hobby. Astronomy is also a place where international boundaries blur. As astronomy is a science, as anyone who studies the universe can verify. When people study the stars it takes precise calculations in there observations, particularly when recording the positions of the constellations. The study of astronomy is defiantly bigger than all of us together.

Most of modern astronomical research involves a substantial amount of physics and can be considered astrophysics. So what are the differences between astrophysics and astronomy? How stars form is one of the central unknowns of astrophysics. While astronomy covers the placement of the stars and planets in our universe.

The invention of the telescope was the most important invention for the study of astronomy. Did you know that Galileo was the first human to use a telescope for astronomy? If you opt to pursue the science of astronomy one of your first purchases should be a telescope as you will need it nightly.

If you want to buy you a telescope, but it all looks confusing to you, be sure to do some analysis. Due to the fact that every person on the planet have different tastes and needs, one telescope is not the same as another and different people want different things. But your choice of a telescope is critical as the telescope is focused on space and astronomy access for all of us.

Telescope parts and accessories can be a very useful addition to your astronomy experience. If you’re just starting out, look for a quality, affordable telescope for beginning astronomy students and casual observers.

If you don’t have a lot of money for buying a telescope, you should try stopping at yard sales, many people sell off there old telescopes when they upgrade or lose interest. You also need to understand that if you acquire a older telescope the lens’s and technology will not be up to date with todays telescopes. You will find that many people will want to use your telescope as long as you have it set up, people are curious by nature and space is the final frontier.

Public curiosity in astronomy is unlimited. Astronomy is our tool for unlocking the knowledge of the heavens. We said it before astronomy is not just a science, but it is also becoming a very popular hobby. And while it is a science, you don’t need to think about what other people think of you, because everyone thinks that it is really cool. And if you are looking for a way to spend more time with your family, astronomy could be exactly what you are looking for, due to everyone’s curious nature.

The study of the stars is also how horoscopes and lovescopes are created.

What Are The Better Options For A Youth Dirt Bike And At What Price

Jim Herman | January 3, 2010

My son has decided he wants a youth dirt bike so I have been doing some research. There are a few things you should look at when you are deciding what to buy. I have put together a basic guide to help anyone else who is looking for a youth dirt bike for their kids. I have found a couple I know my son will love and I am sure yours would to; let’s take a look together.

You should always put safety first. This can be a dangerous toy for a child or teenager and you want to make sure to take certain steps to help keep them safe. This means that safety features should be the first thing you look at before you purchase a youth dirt bike.

One safety measure you will want to make sure and take is to have a helmet. These are a must have with any motorized vehicles that is driven by a child or teenager and more so if it only has two wheels. Helmets are pretty cheap but you will want to get a good one. This will help to protect their head if they do crash so you want it to be durable.

Good breaks are also an important safety feature. These help to stop quickly if needed and can help to prevent accidents, which lessens the need for things like helmets to begin with. The idea is to prevent the accident from occurring to begin with. If there is an accident then a kill switch is a must have. This kills the motor to prevent injury after an accident occurs including being drug behind if they fall off.

The next thing you will want to look at is the speed of the dirt bikes. You should find one that has a top speed you can feel comfortable with and still make your child happy. We all know that they would love the fastest one available but this could also lead to much more serious injuries.

Next you want to look at the size of the bike and the maximum weight it will hold. You want a bike that is small enough for your child to handle without problems but large enough that he or she won’t have a problem riding it. This means looking at seat height and weight limits. You want one that your child can sit comfortable on and hole more than their weight.

Of course you will want to look at prices. It will probably be best to get a new bike so that you know for sure everything is in good working condition and maybe an extended warranty as well. This is an expensive toy and hard to fix if it gets broken on the first outing. These are called dirt bikes for a reason: they are not street legal. You will also want to take into consideration weather or not your child will have a place to ride them.

If you are unsure if you child is ready for a youth dirtbike then you might consider talking with other parents who have or have had children in the same age group and getting their opinions. In the end, only you know if your child or teenagers is mature enough to handle the responsibilities that go along with riding a bike like this.

Find a Dirt Bike Distributor to get some fabulous deals. Either online or locally you can get the correct Youth Dirt Bike. Head online today and get that deal.

Ignoring Warning Signs For the Sake of the Sport

Dr. Gary Gendron | December 22, 2009

After having performed thousands of sports physicals over the years, I have seen an ever increasing trend in poor posture. Often, the posture is compromised before a sport is undertaken, and frequently the posture is affected by repetitive motions of a particular sport.

You can easily perform an analysis of your own posture by having someone look at you from your back (six feet directly behind you). Does one shoulder look higher than the other? Does one hip look higher? Check to see if your feet are equal, is one flaring out more than the other? The knees should be in alignment too, facing the same direction. Your head should be equally balanced, not tilting to one side. If some differences are observed, you may have a biomechanical problem that is affecting your sports performance.

I like to use the analogy of your car being out of alignment. If your automobile is misaligned, your tires will wear out unevenly, you will not get proper fuel efficiency and your car will not run like it should. The same principle applies to your body. Do you think that your body would be more or less prone to injury if you were a runner and you had one hip higher than the other, which caused one leg to be an inch shorter? Running day-after-day, mile-after-mile?

The body will respond to the misalignment by its innate ability to compensate for its changes and will adapt to the differences. However, there is an insidious process, disease sets in, and so the person may not have symptoms for many years before they experience other health problems. One of the most common conditions that occur is degenerate osteoarthritis of the spine and pelvis. The bottom line is, if your biomechanics were in ideal working order, you would be a better, more efficient runner.

One of the most common comments I hear when a new patient comes into the office is “I can golf fine if I take two anti-inflammatories or pain pills before I golf, but after I’m finished I have a lot of pain”. Do you see the point that I am making? If our bodies are giving us pain or it has restricted our range of motion in some way, it is trying to tell us that something is not functioning correctly. Like your car oil light coming on to warn you that the oil is low, do you turn the light off?

We often treat our cars better than our bodies. We can thank the pharmaceutical companies and medical establishment for constant bombardment in radio, print, and television advertisements. Billions of dollars are spent yearly to convince you to take that little miracle pill or potion for instant relief. They advise us to get rid of that symptom quick, ignore what the cause is. We need to take responsibility for our own health. Listen to your body; no one knows it better than yourself.

A pre-exercise warm up is imperative, but often ignored. Many people want to “get right into their workout” and therefore begin their exercise program before their muscles and ligaments have warmed up sufficiently. Without this precaution, one pre-exposes themselves to unnecessary strain on their ligaments and muscles.

It is even more urgent that we take a serious look at this with the proposed changes in our Healthcare System. The quality will not be as good. We should open our eyes, and look to the future. Say to yourself, what if 10, 20 or 30 years from now I have (fill in the blank). What could I have done to prevent that, should I have done this or that? The time for action is now!

Discovering Perfect Dance Lessons

Jim Antonio |

One of the most well liked leisure activities for young girls is dance. It coaches in imaginative dancing and behaves a great deal like exercise, making sure that a girl’s body stays healthy and energetic, and introducing a new degree of agility and style. Choosing Kansas City dance lessons can be complicated, in view of the fact that you are basically looking for someone that you can have confidence in for your daughter.

The phone book is a common answer to finding anything, but the hundreds of listed studios can be very overwhelming and can make you want to give up the search. It is important to have at least a vague idea of what type of dance style you are looking for before trying to find the studio. This is because some girls will prefer a style that is much more challenging physically than will others, and dance styles are very diverse.

Narrowing the playing field is best begun by choosing the specific style of dance based on the girl, not on personal opinion, in most cases. The most common styles include tap, ballroom dancing, hip-hop, ballet, Celtic dance, jazz, Tango, and similar choices. If she has friends/family members in a specific studio or style, consider allowing her to attend with friends or family members in order to get a personal opinion of a reliable dance style or studio.

Heidi’s Dance Center is a dance school in this area, and has been training students for over twenty years. They present six distinctive dance styles for kids and their parents, with lessons that attract all levels of skill. The charge to learn is determined by the type of dance, and the amount of different classes that are chosen.

City In Motion School Of Dance is an equally fashionable choice for grown-ups and youngsters. The school is a not-for-profit studio, thus the cost is extremely affordable. They tutor in a wide range of styles, from jazz to ballet, and even suggest lessons that interest young men (for instance, self defense). This is an outstanding studio choice taken as a whole, in particular for small budgets.

Pole Worx is a bit special when compared with a common dance studio, and accommodates only women. On the surface, one may visualize a lesson plan that should belong in a club for men, but it is in fact a very demanding exercise studio that introduces an outstanding grounds for social gatherings too, but every one is strictly for the girls.

If you are looking for something very unique and out of the ordinary, consider pole dancing as a dance style. This may sound like a risque choice, especially for teenage girls, but it is actually a wonderful way to get a good workout and learn dexterity. All classes are for women/older girls only, no men or boys are allowed in any lesson.

As you can see, the problem is not finding dance lessons, the problem is more along the lines of finding the right dance lessons at the perfect dance studio. Eliminate those that do not offer a company history, then those that have astronomical prices or rules. Finally, find a studio that offers a suitable starting skill level based on the girl, and the choice becomes very easy, whether you are shopping for a little girl or teenager.

Want to find out more about Kansas City dance lessons available in your area. Stop by Touch Dancing Kansas City to see a wide variety of lesson for all levels of experience.
