Friends Scabies Treatment At Home

Scabies treatment is done with creams and skin products. You may take some antihistamine if the itch is too much but it wont do you much good. In fact once treated the itch and the redness may remain for a few more weeks. People with sensitive skins suffer more especially during the night when the buggers are more active.

The appearance of scabies in your home does not come from bad hygiene or anything like that. They are transmitted by physical contact only. You might get it in a waiting room while attending a meeting. Your child might pick it up in school; your neighbor may have it. Infection is similar to lice infection; someone passes them on to you.

It is very important that scabies are reported to school immediately upon diagnosis by a doctor. They can spread like wild fire during the summer in closed quarters especially with small children. This is especially true in kindergarten and nursery where children are put to sleep together after recess and other activities.

Scabies are treated with creams and lotions. These are applied to the complete family at the same time. The best time to do it is at night right after dinner so it will have time to dry on your skin before going to bed. The cream or lotion must remain on for at least eight hours. Babies and small children shall be treated too even if they do not show signs of irritation or itching.

The itch comes from the female laying eggs under your skin and because of their waste irritating the pores. People who have extra sensitive skin may have to use an itch cream along with the scabies treatment for a while because the lesions will continue itching a couple of weeks after the scabies is gone.

To keep the itch down as much as possible after treatment it is a good idea to shower and scrub a couple of times per day. After the scabies are dead the itch will remain for some time due to the waste they deposited on and under your skin. Drinking a lot of water will help to wash some of the poison and toxins out.

Scabies are weak and delicate. They survive because they multiply by the thousands. They cannot stay alive more than one day without a host to feed from. Hot weather or cold weather kills them too. Mans problem is that they are always leaving their eggs behind to perpetuate their existence. It is so hard to get rid of all the waste they leave behind which is why your skin continues to itch even after they are dead.

An itching and rash due to the presence of microscopic mites under the skin needs early scabies treatment. When you kill scabies, you eliminate a secondary infection.
