Dating with Herpes

Jayde Johanssen | January 17, 2010

You have just returned from your doctor’s office, and the test results confirm what you already knew: a herpes diagnosis. Take some time to adjust to the thought that you’ll carry herpes for the duration of your life, but remember, this certainly isn’t anything that will stop you from leading a fulfilling existence. People that carry the herpes virus aren’t different from anyone else. really, the only main thing to remember is that you have to be more careful when engaging in sex with a new partner.

First, we’ll start with a bit of an introduction. Herpes is a virus that is transmitted when an infected person engages in sexual activity with a partner. It’s important to note once more that, at least for the moment, herpes doesn’t have a cure, and stays with the host for the rest of his or her life. Sporadically, the virus manifests itself into blisters and sores that can be itchy and irritable.

You’re probably wondering what herpes means as it relates to your dating life. The biggest thing is honesty; you’ll want to tell your potential partners up front about what the infection is, how it can affect them, and the risks they endure by engaging in sexual activity with them. Of course, you don’t have to go through all of this over the first dinner date. The main thing to avoid is having the conversation right before you get into bed for your first time. Talk about a mood killer! The result is usually tears and angry, slammed doors. Avoid this situation by being frank and open early in the relationship.

You may also want to consider looking into dating websites and services that advertise and provide service only to people who already have herpes. There are many benefits to going through this kind of medium: everything is right out there on the table, and you’ll never have that potentially awkward moment of explaining herpes to your partner.

Most people who carry the herpes virus only have visible symptoms some of the time. That’s not an excuse to keep the fact that you have herpes to yourself, because you can pass it along at any time, regardless of whether there’s anything showing or not.

You’ll want to avoid having sex while you’re suffering from an outbreak, because the chances of transmission to your partner are much greater during this period. Though anti-viral drugs that limit and control outbreaks are quite expensive, you should definitely consider them if you want to limit herpes’ effect on your life.

And of course, always wear protection. Condoms aren’t bulletproof in this situation, but they certainly go a long way towards keeping you and your partners safe. Herpes is just one of the many STD’s out there; others include AIDS and Hepatitis, both of which have very serious consequences.

When everything’s said and done, remember that the person you’re meant to spend the rest of your life with will love without regard to whether you have herpes or not. This is only one bit of your life, and not something that needs to define you.

Jayde Johanssen has found that Herpes dating sites are great at helping their subscribers come to terms with things and enjoy dating again. Herpes dating sites are about discovering love through compassion.

Locations For Every Occasion

Cindy Crawferd | January 11, 2010

Even experienced daters with charm and charisma to spare can botch a potentially great date with a terrible location. If you think it makes no difference, think again. The surrounding location can make any good date better, or worse.

And it’s not just first dates; even if you’ve been together for years and know each other inside and out, it’s a piece of cake to botch important events like birthdays and anniversaries. Here’s a little cheat sheet, from tons of experience and common sense, to help you out:

Date Number One

Especially if you met through internet dating (thus, have no personal experience together), skip the dinner thing. It’s too long. Too much pressure. Instead, I always say opt for a movie, concert or comedy thing and then coffee or dessert.

By placing more importance, at least initially, on the activity rather than the one on one time you’ll create an instant shared experience to talk about. I’d rather have a first date that involves actually doing something before I try to get into someone’s brain to see what makes them tick.

Moreover, by structuring your date this way, it leaves the rest of the afternoon or evening open for suggestions. If you really enjoyed yourselves skating then coffee and dessert might be just the thing. If your after movie cup of coffee goes well, perhaps she’ll take you up on your suggestion for going to that great bar you know.

His/Her Birthday

Birthdays are awesome for relationships. It’s like a built-in chance to prove your astounding awesomeness to the person you’re dating. The key is, you are your sweetie’s person. That’s a responsibility on a birthday. But, unlike anniversaries, you can’t exactly expect to be able to hog your honey all night. He or she has friends and they should be included as well. But you also want to do something romantic.

Here’s a perfect mix of romance and friends; check the local entertainment listings for a band that your sweetheart is really into that will be playing around their birthday. If you don’t have any luck with a band, try something like a play, a comedy performance or something else that’s special and doesn’t happen every day. Get really, REALLY good tickets.

The day of your sweetie’s birthday, treat them to a nice dinner (hey, you have to eat!), and then surprise them with the tickets. After the concert when he or she thinks you’re just the greatest thing ever, you can surprise them with an after-party with all their friends! It takes a little bit of planning, is not nearly as complicated as it seems and is guaranteed to be a winner

You’re The Problem In The Relationship When…

Astrid Engels |

Once you get past the carefree salad days of a relationship, things have a way of getting slightly more, um, real. Real problems, days when you look really unattractive, real neuroses and dangerous habits.

I’m not talking about drinking and driving. I mean the unsafe brain quirks and thought patterns that slowly chip away at an otherwise perfectly healthy relationship. I know, you’re thinking, “OMG, yes, my boyfriend/girlfriend totally has issues like that and I’m, like, this close to dumping his/her sorry butt!”

But what if (brace yourself) the problem is truly in your head? Read on for two common symptoms to watch for that the issues in your relationship are coming from your end:

Sign #1 – You keep score

You should’ve chosen a career as a scorekeeper because you keep track of everything you and your partner do in terms of time and energy to the relationship and each other and when it gets done. Everything from who cleans up to visits to family and friends, it all gets tallied.

Every relationship is going to experience some imbalances from time to time. But making mental notes about who does what and when and using those notes to stoke your anger and resentment means that the problem is you and your attitude.

Your relationship won’t stand a chance if you approach it with this kind of pencil toting, critical outlook, looking for reasons to feel indignant. It’s no wonder you’re always angry and that your partner feels perpetually judged.

Sign #2 – You make assumptions

We all know one part of a couple that thinks he or she knows their partner better than the partner knows themselves! They think they can read the subtext of every text message, interpret every facial expression and predict their partner’s every move, every wish and every desire without ever having to ask.

People hate to have aspects of their personality cast in stone. If the person you are dating believes you no longer listen to them because you think you already know everything there is to know, the annoyance and frustration they feel, and the misunderstandings it will cause will inevitably lead the relationship to break down.

Diversity Of Oriental New Year Crafts

John Chan |

Come let us know how the Chinese demonstrate their creativity through art work and handicrafts to welcome the New Year.

The Chinese people as ancient history shows, follows the lunar calendar. Many important dates are recorded in this Chinese calendar. But the celebration of New Year is the special date for the Chinese.

Just to make it clear the Chinese New Year does not start on the first of January. Their New Year is dependent upon the cycles of the moon so it falls on a totally different date than the Gregorian solar calendar.

The festival of the Chinese New year is a time of celebration for the Chinese. The festive spirit is on rise during the season and there is lots of activity going on in the streets of China. Over the years the Chinese have developed many traditions associated with the coming of the New Year and amongst them is a vast collection of Chinese New Year crafts.

Amidst the fireworks and feasting are also seen a range of Chinese New Year crafts which are added to show the creativity and innovation present in the master craftsmen of China. They add color and diversity to the on-going festival.

The New Year has a variety of special events such as the fireworks demonstration, the giving of gifts and the lantern festival. Each of these days has its own choices of Chinese crafts that represent the nature of the event. These crafts sell like hot cakes during the New Year season.

Since each Chinese New Year is designated an animal sign it is but natural to find the New Year crafts of that year to revolve around the animal of the year. This serves many different purposes in the Chinese community.

First and foremost, this is a way of keeping the ancient Chinese culture alive. Besides, there are a lot of artists and craftsmen who get a chance to reveal their skill and also get a good market to make their works commercially viable and do a lot of business during the festival.

One of the primary reasons that Chinese New Year crafts serve is that they make great gift items for those who are part of the culture. Not only do the crafts inspired by the animal of the year make a great new year’s gift rather people often use these gifts to give to people who were born in the year of the same animal.

The New Year crafts are not just stuck to the animal of the year. Besides that, a wide range of these crafts are specially prepared for the festive season. The fireworks created for the celebrations are innovative as well as beautiful and are supposed to an important New Year craft.

Another New Year variety of crafts is the Lantern crafts of all sorts. The fortune telling crafts are also quite in demand with Chinese public. These are found to be sold all over the markets. There is also a special set of craft items sold to the kids especially during this season of the year.

Chinese new year arts & crafts come in a variety of forms. To read more about animals at Chinese new year follow the hyperlinks.

10 Important’ Steps In Healthy Eating For Children And A Healthy Eating Diet

Antonio Khatemi | January 9, 2010

I went to see a dog trainer after rescuing my dog Roxy from the pound some years ago. The first thing the trainer told me was, “Hey, first I need to train you and teach you how to be with your dog.The dog already knows what to do,it is you who doesn’t know.” That was an amazing discovery for me. It helped me create an excellent relationship with my dog.

We must remember that children aren’t born craving pizza or fast food or sweets. They don’t learn about these foods until they are introduced to them. If parents keep these options to a minimum, our kids (and we) will be so much better off.

But the world around us fights these sorts of efforts constantly. All fast food restaurants push their “super” size. Ads for these less-than-healthy types of restaurants are everywhere too. Parents can’t turn around without being presented with “easy” options for food – options that usually aren’t even close to being healthy.

We live in a society that promotes super sizes and food on the go. Instead, please allow your children to learn good habits that they’ll keep their entire lives. Children are great followers. Take advantage of this to teach them how to eat healthy and to understand the importance of nutritional value for good health.

Building healthy eating habits for you and your children means: 1. Becoming an example of healthy living and healthy eating. You should exercise – with and without your children. Choose water instead of soda. Eat what your kids eat – balanced meals that include lots of fruits and veggies. 2. Including water at every meal and limiting soda. Make water a constant option and don’t always keep soda in your refrigerator or pantry. 3. Drinking watered down fruit juice (for less sugar) and whole organic milk. Both offer great nutrients for your growing kids. 4. Putting a halt to the use of sugar and junk food as a reward for good behavior. Try to use fruits and vegetables in a fun way instead. Don’t make sweets a regular presence in your house. 5. Eating often. This doesn’t sound right, but it is! Eating many small stacks is actually better for you than eating three big meals. Eating small snacks throughout the day between a couple of larger meals keeps portions small and provides more opportunities for a variety of healthy foods. 6. Offering a protein, carbohydrate and colorful vegetables at most meals. Be sure to include great choices like: fish, chicken, beef, lamb, turkey, rice, pasta, bread, toast, broccoli, peas, cauliflower, or peppers. Encourage children to eat plenty of these diverse meals without overeating. 7. Taking time as a family to walk and talk and be involved in each others lives. Make physical activity the norm in your family life and it won’t be a “chore” anymore. 8. Limiting your children time with television and video games. Provide them with activities that will be fun and might burn off some energy at the same time. Encourage them to come up with their own activities and some for the whole family, too. 9. Showing your children what healthy foods are – in all their wide variety. Healthy eating provides a great opportunity for getting your kids to try new things. There are so many tasty, natural options out there that can be brought to the table in a lot of fun ways. Be creative! 10.Keeping in mind that any time is a good time to eat healthy. You can start eating healthy whenever you want – just start! Your family will thank you for it.

Ladies Wide Shoes – 3 Cons to Having Shoes That Are Very Tight

Jessica Shooburt | January 4, 2010

Are you searching for ladies wide shoes but you aren’t persuaded whether you should get them or not? I am going to cover three cons to having shoes that are too tight in this article. It doesn’t matter if you are working at the office in high heels or if you are wearing flats and waiting tables. The right fit of shoes is extremely critical. I am convinced that you have come home more than once with aching feet. You may not know the other dangers that can come from wearing shoes that are too tight however.

Ladies Wide Shoes

Corn

Corns are particularly common and they are not pleasing to the eye in any way whatsoever. You will notice the corn usually on the side of your toe and they can actually turn into a nasty ulcer and be quite painful.

Callus

Calluses are pretty much the same thing as corns since they also are hardened skin. The skin has hardened due to the pressure that has been put on the feet in that area over and over by that offending narrow shoe.

Hammertoe

If you go barefoot another eye sore you will see is the hammertoe. It can also be pretty painful. A hammer toe is where your toes bend under at the joint because of either wearing shoes that are too small or too narrow. Either of these three conditions can easily be avoided by getting ladies wide shoes. Wearing shoes that are the right size is always a must. This applies to the length and the width.

Ladies Wide Shoes

In this article we talked about 3 conditions that can haunt you if you neglect your feet. These can be prevented or if you are experiencing them you can stop them in their tracks.

Discovering The Tour De France: More Than A Simple Bike Ride

Damian Papworth | January 2, 2010

For most Americans, the initial images that come to mind when one mentions sports are group athletics on a field. Football, baseball, and basketball are the holy trinity of sporting events States-side, but to Europeans, older and more traditional activities reign supreme.

Those in the United States might not understand the appeal of the race, but getting to know The Tour de France means starting to get excited about watching people on bicycles, too. For most amateur athletes, even a vague understanding of how fit one has to be to even consider making it to the end, let alone winning, is enough to give the race a little bit of time in between other television programming.

But make no mistake about it–rather than a simple leisurely bike ride through the countryside, The Tour de France is one grueling bike race, and the trials and tribulations of even making it to the finish are why it’s the most famous race in the entire world. Rides from all over the world are competing not just against one another, but also against the landscape, the conditions, and their own psyches. The three-week long race is broken into daily segments, with very little time for recovery from day to day.

One of the most exciting parts of The Tour de France is the fact that, every year, the route changes. In actuality, the distance for the race can vary a great deal, with the shortest clocking in around 1,500 miles, and the longest somewhere around 3,570 miles. Riders never know quite what they’re going to get, and neither do the fans, who line small mountain passes as well as city streets, ecstatic to cheer their favorites on.

It’s not just mountain passes, though. The race usually weaves in and out of cities, and traditionally wraps up with a triumphant sprint down busy city streets in Paris. The race is also known for varying in length, with the route changing every year. Sometimes, the difference can be as sizable as a few hundred miles, but usually it’s more of a matter of routes. Anyone who wants to participate, though, should be in top form, as even very athletic riders talk of experiencing a great deal of trouble at the prospect of tackling the race.

The Tour de France is known for the toll it takes on both the body and the mind, to say nothing of the bicycle itself. Add to that the fact that it’s possible to never win a single portion of the race, but still triumph at the end, and no wonder riders are exhausted and disoriented for much of the experience, unsure of exactly where they stand in the rank. That only makes it more fun for the fans, who crowd the streets to shout encouraging words to the riders at every turn.

Perhaps the most world-famous superhuman winner of The Tour de France is not some muscular Swiss rider or a scrappy-looking Italian, but a bona-fide American. And this American didn’t just win the race a couple of times–he swept almost a whole decade, taking home seven wins in a row. This man? Lance Armstrong, the ex Mr. Sheryl Crow, and a cancer survivor. Even the European cycling fans had to admit his talents after win number two, and every year after that, it was anyone’s guess as to whether or not this old (for racing standards) man could manage to pull it off again.

Who managed to change American opinion on The Tour de France? A single rider, Lance Armstrong, who managed to win The Tour de France not once, not twice, not three times, but SEVEN times, in a row. He managed to come back from a devastating cancer diagnosis to triumph in the race, and led to a lot of bicycling-related patriotism for those Americans who might not have even been interested in the race in the first place.

But whether it’s cheering for an obscure 20-something who might just have his lucky day, poring over old film footage of racers making their way up the mountains in grainy black and white, or getting excited for Lance Armstrong and wondering if an American will ever do that well again, there’s no denying the appeal of The Tour de France.

Damian Papworth, a keen cyclist knows how crucial hydration is in the sport, at all levels. As such, he published the Cycling Water Bottle website, giving free advice on bicycle water bottles

What To Steal From Your Boyfriend And Why

Astrid Engels | December 31, 2009

Yes, I’m really suggesting that you steal the following from your boyfriend. Okay, not permanently so maybe “borrow” would be a better word to use. I know my boyfriend thinks I’m all cute and sexy and I wear his favorite button down shirt but I’ll also be the first one to admit that he get exasperated when I refuse to return his favorite band t-shirt come concert time.

Shrug. They’ll get over it. The truth is, even if they pretend to be put out by your thieving ways, they actually love that you’re so into them that you want to literally wear it on your sleeve.

If you’re going to treat yourself to some of your boyfriend’s stuff, you need to choose wisely. Here are my four favorites;

1) A button-down work shirt

Yes, I know this one is obvious, but it’s my personal favorite. I think my boyfriend has button downs that I wear more often than he does, for three reasons;

The first is that seeing you wear it will make him think you’re all sultry and movie star like as you sip morning coffee. Second, they’re incredibly comfortable, and third they smell like your guy, even after a trip to the dry cleaner.

2) A very worn in sweatshirt

What can I say? This is one of the central perks of putting up with all of his annoying man-habits. Every guy has that one amazing sweatshirt from college that he’s worn too many times to count. It’s huge, soft and is by far the best thing to throw on in the chilly morning hours. One word of advice: just try to pretend that no other girlfriend before you ever, ever wore it.

3) Old-man cardigan

Don’t question why this piece of his clothing works with leggings or jeans and a pair of mary janes, just accept it. Yes, they’re a bit oversized for us, so maybe that’s why. Regardless, they come in all kinds of wonderful colors and are great for a quick, comfy warm up.

4) His favorite Band T-Shirt

Here’s the secret: always pick the one that fits you just perfectly and is really, really old and soft. It does not matter what the band is. Either it’s a great band and then you’re wearing a great band’s shirt that happens to look amazingly hot on you or it’s a terrible band and you’re wearing a terrible band’s shirt, that still looks amazingly hot on you. Everyone will assume you’re being ironic anyhow. Hint: you may have to be sneaky to get this one away from him. Dudes get attached to their band shirts.

Feeling Lazy? Grab Some Retro Sweets And Bring Life To Your Day

Michael Parker | December 30, 2009

Although a person is active, it doesn’t mean that he is unsusceptible to lazy days. In fact, when he does come across a lazy day, he just might stop doing the things he used to do and just stay in bed all day and contemplate on nothing at all. When this happens, even a warm summer day can never get him out of his pajamas and enjoy the perfect day outside. So if you want to help lighten this person’s mood, you can simply lure him with retro sweets.

It doesn’t need much explaining. The classic and heavenly retro sweets taste so divine that it will automatically bring life to a lazy mood. Moreover, these sweets also trigger nostalgic memories of childhood and they add even more to the lifting of mood of a dormant person. These memories probably involve images of children sneaking out of the kitchen with a handful of sweets at hand.

Retro sweets have been a big part of children’s lives in the past. However, it doesn’t mean they couldn’t be a part of children’s lives today. In fact, although some of these sweets are really classic and old, they still exist today and still continue to make children and kids-at-heart happy.

The kick that a person gets from the chocolaty, sugary and even minty flavors of retro sweets is enough to set his adrenaline moving. With the nostalgia that comes along the experience, he definitely will want to jump out of bed and be as playful as he can be. Yes, the result of sampling these heavenly treats can be quite addicting. But if that means to lighten up someone’s mood then perhaps it is not a bad thing. To say the least, these sugary confections make people feel happy.

Chocolates in retro sweets are one of the treats that bring a lighter mood to any person. This is because chocolates produce the chemical phenylephylamine. This is the same chemical that is responsible for the feeling of falling in love in people. Whenever there are friends who feel down in the dumps, you should already know that classic sweets are the best answer.

However, there are cases too that a person who has eaten retro sweets, instead of feeling so lively, would slump back to bed and reminisce even more the fond memories he has created with these delectable sweets.
