Don’t Ignore Your Anxiety Attacks

Bart Forcey | January 31, 2011

Love is meant to be a happy emotion, yet it can also be one of the prime drivers behind a persons anxiety attack. You may see your ex love at a social event and it would be perfectly normal to have some level of anxiety in that situation but when that anxiety builds up and up until it makes you worry over every detail of your evening then it is time to realize that it has become a problem.

If you are afraid of open spaces then you know what that going into an open space will cause you to have a panic or anxiety attack. Some people will know that certain animals will have the same effect, rats and spiders come to mind. As crazy as it sounds this is a good think, at least you know exactly what causes your anxiety or panic attacks, imagine if you had multiple trigger points.

The trigger for an anxiety attack can vary with the situation for most people. At times of stress panic can trigger the body’s reaction to high levels of stress which usually involves large amounts of chemicals which give us the strength to run away or stand and defend ourselves. Also known as the fight or flight reaction this can often be the main reason behind any panic attack.

We are all scared of different things, a situation that causes one person to have high levels of fear will not make another person blink an eye. It is true that no two people are alike. How do you know you are feeling fear? Usually your heart rate will increase, you will sweat and you may have feelings of nausea.

Symptoms can be a mixed when concerning panic. But any panic sufferer will attest to the immense feeling of anxiety that comes along with an anxiety panic attack. The good thing about an anxiety panic attack is that in most cases they can be controlled. Exercise, controlled breathing, a healthy diet, relaxation, even just someone to listen, all of these can things can help control panics. For many people the way to go is to find out what causes the panic attack and then learn how they can take away or reduce that factor in their life.

Understanding anxiety is a goal every person who has anxiety hopes for. Many anxiety sufferers feel no one understands, anxiety can make your life miserable, but you can beat it.

The Treatment For Depression In Your Home

Danny Smith | May 24, 2010

Depression is a mental illness that affects the whole body, mind, and your thoughts. Depression may show itself as anxiety, mood bursts, irritation and frustration, and even chronic and non curing stress. As the mind is the controlling authority for your body, habits, actions and feelings, and as the depression heavily interferes with the functioning of the mind, you and those surrounding you are affected by your depressive behavior.

Usually, a depression is a medical condition that cannot be simply taken as a symptom of personal weakness or as a condition that can be easily tackled by the Person afflicted with depression. To cure depression, a systematic medical treatment is necessary and without which, the symptoms and effects of the depression may stay on the patient for a long time causing his mental condition to worsen. Sometimes, the continued depression may cause irreparable damage to the mental health of the patient. Hence, utmost importance must be given to cure depression at the earlier stages of affliction.

The treatment of depression must take into account the main cause of depression, which is a chemical imbalance in the brain. Depression treatment usually targets this imbalance and tries to correct it. However, doctors realize that depression treatment can often have side effects as the medication is strong. A study in Canada found that the bones of patients undergoing depression treatment were less dense than others, leading to brittle bones.

Psychological treatment of depression (psychotherapy) assists the depressed individual in several ways. First, supportive counseling helps ease the pain of depression, and addresses the feelings of hopelessness that accompany depression. The length of treatment will vary, according to the severity of the depression, and the number and kind of life problems that need to be addressed. Most people will begin to experience some relief with 6 to 10 sessions, and approximately 70-80% of those treated notice significant improvement within 20-30 sessions. Mild depression may be treated in less sessions, and more significant depression may require extended treatment. Treatment sessions are usually scheduled once per week, although they may be scheduled more frequently initially, or if the person is experiencing significant life crises.

The herbal and natural based medicines to cure depression have become so popular as the herbal antidepressant medicines like Anxius are cheaper than most of the SSRI based conventional medicines that are prescribed to cure depression. You do not need a doctor’s prescription to get and use Anxius, and it is far more effective in controlling depression, without any harmful side effects, even if they are used for a very long term.

Always consult your physician or health professional for tips on optimizing supplement absorption in the treatment of depression.

Manic Depression

Owen Jones | January 28, 2010

Manic Depression or Bipolar Disorder is considered one of the worst types of depression that people usually suffer from. Characterized by sudden and extreme changes in mood. Manic depression is named that because manic refers to ‘mania’, which refers to the ‘ups’ while depression refers to the ‘downs’. Bi-polar also refers to both ends of the spectrum of emotions

Many people experience sudden changes in their moods and, sometimes, these so-called mood swings are not just caused by PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome) or stress. Doctors have diagnosed mood swings as a frequent symptom of depression, when these mood swings become extreme. For example, if someone gets angry because a shop does not have his favourite biscuits, it may just a sign of a spoilt childhood, but when becoming angry also means that that person will scream and swear at the shop keeper, it could represent the onset of Manic Depression.

The ‘manic’ times or ‘ups’ in Manic Depression (or Bi-polar Disorder) are described as the times when a person who has Manic Depression experiences excessively high periods, consisting of heightened energy, sudden outbursts of euphoric mood, extreme irritability, together with racing thoughts and aggressive behaviour. According to therapists, someone suffering from Manic Depression may have these so-called manic ‘periods’ not just for a day or so, they can actually go on for a week or more.

During these so-called ‘low’ or ‘down’ periods, people who are suffering from Manic Depression may experience very similar symptoms to those who are suffering from ‘normal’ depression. People who are suffering from Manic Depression will experience episodes showing a depressed frame of mind – including abject feelings of lack of self worth and being unloved.

There are various other symptoms as well: irrational guilt, extreme sadness, anxiety attacks, feeling of not belonging, extreme gloom and an obvious lack of pleasure. According to therapists, anyone who is depressed continuously for more than a week can be officially diagnosed as a Manic Depressive.

Despite it being one of the most common and acute sorts of depressive disorder, Manic Depression can be successfully treated, according to therapists. There’s no reason to worry too much about having it. You just need to follow the procedures that the therapist tells you and take the prescribed medication in the proper dosage in order to help you (or your friend or love one) overcome Manic Depression before it is too late.

Also, individuals who suffer from Manic Depression should see their therapists on a regular basis, so as to be able to release their pent up emotions to someone who can interpret just what it is they are going through a lot better than an untrained person.

Although positive results for Manic Depression can be obtained from natural alternatives, a proper and a more lasting relief from Manic Depressive symptoms can best be achieved through consultation with a cognitive behaviour therapist. Contrary to some thought, when it comes to psychiatric treatments, psychiatrists, preferably cognitive behaviour therapists are still the best ones to consult for a lasting cure for Manic Depression.

Fighting Depression In Some Practical Ways

John Bryan | January 22, 2010

Depression is one of those emotions that is absolutely hard to just get a handle on. Even harder is figuring out when the depression is dangerous. Because there are times that people can get so depressed they are a danger to themselves. So to determine if you are at that point you should follow these steps. Because depression isn’t something you should let go on hoping it goes away.

First of all, you absolutely need to find out what is really causing that depression within you. Is it something that happened? Just recently, did you just lose a loved one? Determining what may really have caused the depression will definitely help you to determine if it is natural. Because depression will come sometimes due to circumstances, but you just really have to let it play out.

If you really determine that it is really going beyond being a natural emotion then you can definitely seek help with a depression counselor. A good counselor can absolutely help you to address any significant issues you may have. They can do it in a nice safe environment and determine what is causing the depression. When they find the cause they will have the experience to know what steps to take to help you.

Sometimes the counselor may determine that it may be because of a chemical imbalance in your body. At that particular point, they may assign some drugs that can absolutely help combat that reaction. But the main point is to realize that finding out what is wrong may only happen with counseling.

People sometimes are definitely afraid of the actual cost of counseling. But there are low cost counseling options available to people. To really tell the truth though, that is not actually the most important thing. Your health and safety should be more important then costs. Understanding this definitely crucial point is very significant.

So there you have some things you can do if you find yourself depressed. Most importantly, you definitely have to take immediate action and try to cure it before it gets worse.

Depression is something that requires a good depression counselor. There you will find help for your depression from this San Diego family therapist.

Can Relationship Counseling Work If you Are The Only One That Goes?

Schfi Douce | January 21, 2010

Many couples may resort to relationship counseling has their last chance before a breakup or divorce. There is a small percentage of couples that try counseling early when their first problems come to light. Couples should ever be afraid to try counseling, even if their problems seem to be petty. Catching petty little problems early in a relationship with counseling can help to avoid larger problems in the future. It might save a marriage.

Today’s couples seem more eager to try to new things, which makes counseling a good option. Couples married years ago seem less likely to go for counseling or try new approaches, perhaps because it wasn’t something commonly done when they were younger. Very often marriages of 30 or 40 years now end in divorce, which is a shame because they’ll never know if relationship counseling could have helped save the marriage.

If you want to go to counseling and you would like to have your partner there with you, try not to be judgmental when you ask them to attend. If you ask your partner in a way that makes them feel as if they are the problem and the reason your marriage or relationship is in need of counseling, you are bound to encounter resistance to the idea. Make it clear that you seek counseling for yourself, if nothing else.

Present the idea of counseling to your partner as a need of yours to work out issues of your own. Let your spouse know that you need help learning how to be a better partner and ways to give more of yourself to the relationship. Avoid telling you spouse that they are the one in need of relationship counseling. Even if this is the case, don’t tell them that. As you progress though relationship tips and techniques together, together you will become better partners.

When they join you in relationship counseling, they too will be learning techniques to building a better relationship. It is never too late to try counseling or to suggest it to your spouse. So, don’t be afraid to bring it up. It doesn’t matter if you have been together for three months or 50 years, it is never too late to try to solve problems though counseling. Don’t make the mistake of thinking your relationship is too new and by suggesting relationship counseling you will be admitting that your relationship is on the rocks. That is simply not true. By overcoming obstacles now, you will be making your relationship stronger for the future.

If your partner believes that your suggestion of relationship counseling means that the relationship isn’t perfect, and maybe even is doomed, calmly explain that that isn’t true. Just because you’re willing to admit that everything is not perfect shows that you’re willing to make necessary changes to keep the other person and yourself happy.

If your partner refuses, go on your own. While the counseling would work best if both of you go, you can go and work on things to improve yourself. If your partner sees you going to relationship counseling, they’re more likely to give it a try.

This is just a small sample of what you can find at www.exbacklove.com a web site devoted entirely to helping you improve your relationships. Click here to read this weeks top article entitled “How to win your ex back”

Perfect Six Pack Abs Through Exercise

Tessa Erickson |

Through dedication, perseverance, and forbearance are perfect abs possible. People have this idea of what the perfect flat stomach should look like. One’s self-confidence is boosted once you see the perfect abs you have been working for. In order to get the look you are wanting, you must drop your body fat percentage and build up you muscles.

There are many exercises to build muscle. A person can exercise by doing crunches, this can strengthen your stomach muscles by the right breathing and by flexing your abs. Best results is to have your arms at your sides which focuses in the abdominal area which directly focuses on your abs, then you will raise your shoulders to your knees using your stomach muscles. Don’t lift your entire back off the floor because that will strain your neck and back. For best results you need to do repetitive crunches.

Technology today is constantly changing, one such device has been created and proven to teach you how to properly do a sit up- ab rolling machines. Today, you will find different variations of the same concepts in most retail stores where exercise equipment is sold. Because this device is designed for someone just starting out, one may outgrow this within about a year.

At first it is not important to work on your side muscles in your stomach, but eventually it will need to be done. These are the muscles on both sides of your stomach. There are many exercises you can do to work on these muscles. Any exercise that includes twisting your upper body with resistance counts as exercise. Many gyms have twisting machines, you can do side bends, you can use a medicine ball and twist side to side while holding the ball. When first starting to do the side exercises do not over do it because these muscles are not used to being worked out.

One technique that people swear by is using a piece of equipment around your waist that sends electric signals to your waist flexing your stomach muscles. Of the people who tried it out, all claim that this equipment worked for them. It will eliminate the possibility of pains and strains in the lower back. This device is not for just exercising, but used while performing everyday task.

Getting the best ever abs is not all exercise. Even with all the working out, there is still dieting to help define your abs. For starters, no more junk food. Junk food is anything full of sugars and bad carbs. No one said this would be easy, but worth the end result if you can stick it out. Examples of good foods to ingest a well rounded diet that is balanced in carbs, grains, and nutrients as well as plenty of water. Water helps keep your system flushed of any toxins.

Deciding to take supplements is a personal decision. There are so many web sites and dietary stores out there with there own variations of supplements, plenty of research must be done to decide which one to take if that is the decision that you choose. You should seek the advice of a doctor or physician to help decide if your not sure you should take these.

Now that you know you want perfect abs you need to find ways to add twists, bends and crunches in your everyday life. Try to duck and twist while doing your daily activities for example reach for things on your right with your left hand and things on your left side with your right hand. While walking or even standing try to duck as if you were trying to get out of the way of something. Adding a few sprints to your routine will also build your abs and give you that great six pack. And while doing all of these exercising you will be losing weight and gaining muscle.

Its not really that surprising since the mind basically tells the body what to do and how it should react. perfect abs Dates are often made and cancelled at the last minute with a variety of excuses used. Pick small goals that you can achieve in the next 30-60days.

Help Me Save My Marriage Quick!

Schfi Douce | January 19, 2010

Has your spouse done something to betray or hurt you, now you feel your marriage maybe in trouble. Ignoring the pain, are you still saying, “Help me save my marriage quick.” Or, “Can I do anything to help save my marriage.” Do worry, your not alone. Many couples ask this very same question everyday.

The key to getting your marriage back on track is to start with yourself. You may have good reason for your anger and pain, But, if you want a response to your efforts of healing, you need to take an honest look at yourself. Because your reaction to what your spouse did to you will greatly impact your marriages survival.

To get you started, take a look at these three steps to saving a marriage in crisis.

“3 Steps To Saving A Marriage” -Step #1

Don’t go into victim-mode. Playing the victim is really easy to do when you have been hurt deeply by a loved one. Maybe your spouse had an affair or lied about something vary important. Big problems, for sure, but drowning in self pity and playing the victim won’t make anything better. Not only will it push your relationship farther apart, you could lose their respect as well as the respect of others.

Choose to be a survivor. Take responsibility for your behavior and how you react to what has been done to you. The past is in the past, how you choose to handle it will directly effect your future.

“3 Steps To Saving A Marriage” -Step -#2

Don’t hold onto to your anger. If you truly want the chance for your relationship to heal, you must be willing to let go of your anger and find a way to forgive. It can be difficult, no doubt, but you really need to do it for you. Often people think that forgiveness is for the other person, but it is more for the person who is forgiving. Holding onto anger not only takes an incredible amount of energy, it also keeps you stuck.

Don’t miss-understand me, to forgive, does not mean you forget what has happened to you nor does it mean in any way that this was acceptable behavior. What it does mean is you are putting forth a great deal of effort to put it behind you and moving foreword. You will notice that true forgiveness will release a tremendous amount of weight holding your relationship down, opening the door to a new chapter in your marriage.

“3 Steps To Saving A Marriage”-Step #3

Try not to judge your partner harshly. It is easy to take the self-righteous path and condemn the ones who made the mistake. But remember you too have made mistakes. Yes, you may say something like, “I would never cheat on my spouse.” The world is full of people who have said and thought the exact same way, only to find themselves in a situation they had never dream of being in.

If you feel that your marriage is worth saving and you are willing to commit to making it last, avoid being the judge and jury of your relationship. The more you try to understand your spouses feeling and what led to this behavior, the better chance you will have of healing and moving on to a deeper, stronger relationship.

This is just one of the powerful techniques you can find in “The Magic of Making Up Review”. Visit Schfi Douce’s web site www.exbacklove.com and get your free copy of She Dumped Me and I Want Her Back and many more articles on relationship advice.

How To Help People By Listening

Ann Shorb |

You’ve heard the saying, “Talking is sharing. Listening is caring,” haven’t you? I saw it on a sign in front of a church a couple of years ago, and it caught my eye. In the last few weeks, I’ve seen it again several times. I’m not sure who first said it, but it really is true.

In one of the devotionals that I sent out to my subscriber list I wrote about a rough time in my life that I was going through and how God’s Word had been a great comfort to me. When I wrote that devotional I had no idea that I would get such a warm response from readers. I had calls from friends and emails from readers that I don’t even know personally. Many of them told me that they were there for me if I wanted to talk to someone.

The fact that these people were willing to take the time to write an encouraging note, or even to call, meant so much to me. It should me that they were listening and that they cared about me. Those facts were obvious and it had a big impact on how I was feeling.

Our lives are crazy, always going straight from one thing to the next with little time to think or relax in between. In these busy times in which we live, many of us are not as committed to listening as we should be. It’s easy for us to be like this, but making some changes in our habits can make a big impact for others.

By listening to someone else you are showing that you care about them. If you didn’t care you wouldn’t be willing to give them your time and attention, which is what typically happens in today’s world. Listening is extremely powerful and can have a profound impact on the strength of relationships. When you listen to someone else you are showing them God’s love.

Throughout the four Gospels we read stories of Jesus listening to people. In most cases these are average, ordinary people that wouldn’t get the attention of religious leaders of that day. In other cases they were prominent people, like Nicodemus. Nicodemus was a Jewish leader that talked to Jesus about the miracles He was performing and His teaching of the people.

In the book of John we read about Jesus listing to “the woman at the well” She was a shamed and sinful woman that he encountered at the well. Other religious leaders would have never thought to give her any attention, but Jesus did. None of the things that mattered to other leaders of that time (such as gender, religion, status, profession, etc.) stopped Jesus from listening to someone. He demonstrated an amazing model for us to follow.

To my friends who showed that they were willing to listen, thank you. The situation that I was dealing with is no behind me.

Lord, thank You for giving me amazing friends and family that care about me. Thank You for using them to show Your love. Help me to be as willing to listen to others as they have been willing to listen to me.

Ann Shorb is a counselor and the founder of Christian Counseling and Educational Services in Hanover, PA. They provide a variety of services including pre marital counseling, christian marriage counseling, family counseling and much more.

Dating with Herpes

Jayde Johanssen | January 17, 2010

You have just returned from your doctor’s office, and the test results confirm what you already knew: a herpes diagnosis. Take some time to adjust to the thought that you’ll carry herpes for the duration of your life, but remember, this certainly isn’t anything that will stop you from leading a fulfilling existence. People that carry the herpes virus aren’t different from anyone else. really, the only main thing to remember is that you have to be more careful when engaging in sex with a new partner.

First, we’ll start with a bit of an introduction. Herpes is a virus that is transmitted when an infected person engages in sexual activity with a partner. It’s important to note once more that, at least for the moment, herpes doesn’t have a cure, and stays with the host for the rest of his or her life. Sporadically, the virus manifests itself into blisters and sores that can be itchy and irritable.

You’re probably wondering what herpes means as it relates to your dating life. The biggest thing is honesty; you’ll want to tell your potential partners up front about what the infection is, how it can affect them, and the risks they endure by engaging in sexual activity with them. Of course, you don’t have to go through all of this over the first dinner date. The main thing to avoid is having the conversation right before you get into bed for your first time. Talk about a mood killer! The result is usually tears and angry, slammed doors. Avoid this situation by being frank and open early in the relationship.

You may also want to consider looking into dating websites and services that advertise and provide service only to people who already have herpes. There are many benefits to going through this kind of medium: everything is right out there on the table, and you’ll never have that potentially awkward moment of explaining herpes to your partner.

Most people who carry the herpes virus only have visible symptoms some of the time. That’s not an excuse to keep the fact that you have herpes to yourself, because you can pass it along at any time, regardless of whether there’s anything showing or not.

You’ll want to avoid having sex while you’re suffering from an outbreak, because the chances of transmission to your partner are much greater during this period. Though anti-viral drugs that limit and control outbreaks are quite expensive, you should definitely consider them if you want to limit herpes’ effect on your life.

And of course, always wear protection. Condoms aren’t bulletproof in this situation, but they certainly go a long way towards keeping you and your partners safe. Herpes is just one of the many STD’s out there; others include AIDS and Hepatitis, both of which have very serious consequences.

When everything’s said and done, remember that the person you’re meant to spend the rest of your life with will love without regard to whether you have herpes or not. This is only one bit of your life, and not something that needs to define you.

Jayde Johanssen has found that Herpes dating sites are great at helping their subscribers come to terms with things and enjoy dating again. Herpes dating sites are about discovering love through compassion.
